when does this game come out, have to make sure I'm going to pick it up on day 1, even though I'm not a big baseball fan, its a game much more fun to play than watch. (to me).

I would like to join. Would I have to buy the '09 version? Or could I stick with my '08 and just do a roster update?

I'm in either way, if I could, I'd like to take the 'Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim'.

Thats like me. Can't really watch it. but can go to a game and get into it.

I think this game comes out in March. Think that was last years release date

From what we're reading the new 2009 one will have the online season. But like I said before along with somebody else. Lets hope there online crap gets fixed

I would love to join as the Baltimore Orioles but not sure how an online league works and would have to fit around my as of yet unknown Iraq schedule. What exactly happens with these?

Not only will the game support Online Season Leagues with fully functional drafts, Sony has also added flex scheduling so gamers can jump ahead and play games out of order depending on which opponents are online. Up to 30 teams can participate and the mode includes full stat tracking and customization down to number of teams and games in the schedule.



There is also a cool Roster Vault option where gamers can create their own custom rosters and upload them online for other gamers to use.

Yeah, the biggest pain is all the spacing. In the event that it happens again, I PM'ed myself the post, so that I'll at least have that around to copy and paste.

I just need the person who PM'ed me yesterday asking to take the Indians to remind me of his name (I already deleted the PMs). For now I grayed out the Indians, so at least it's shown they aren't available.

Why is the AL so popular? Or, should I say, the AL East? It should be fun though...no easy division wins against computer teams...except the Jays so far.

Well great, I would definitely like to be involved although it is very possible I could run into difficulty when it all gets going. How do we keep up to date on news and things like that? A forum thread isn't terribly effective unless the original post is constantly updated so people don't have to go hunting, but an email list would be nice so we don't have to constantly check for updates.

I can try to arrange a sort of email list-serv, and once I get that running, I'll PM everyone in the league on this forum, to have them send me their emails, that way they don't have to post them here for the world to see.

As far as how the schedule works, in the brief preview article posted on ESPN, they mentioned that the online leagues will have "flex scheduling" so you can play your games out of order, based on which of your opponents happen to be online at the same time you are.

Before we get much further, I should just ask... are we all on the same page about a full 162 game season, or is anyone expecting a shorter one? I only ask because I know how long 162 games can take, and not everyone may really want to commit that much time. Obviously we get a jump start on the real baseball season (since the game comes out in March), and there's no reason why we have to finish it by the time the real World Series finishes, so I imagine if we just take our time, 162 shouldn't be an issue, right? Anything else just wouldn't seem as "real". Every....game...counts. Kind of like in the NFL, but x 10.

Whatever works for everybody else. I can do atleast 2 games a night. Yeah no life
