That said, if I only had to pick one, it would be Casino. The combination of De Niro and Pesci is money. Not to mention, it's based off the story of Sam 'Ace' Rothstein. To me, that pretty much seals the deal.
Sam "Ace" Rothstein was really Frank "Lefty" Rosenthal. Ginger McKenna/Ginger Rothstein was really Geraldine McGee (better known as Geri McGee)/Geraldine Rosenthal (better known as Geri Rosenthal).

It is a toss up between Goodfellas and Casino for my favorite gangster movie. Casino had a substantially better transfer than Goodfellas-especially the video transfer. The Departed was okay. Leonardo DiCaprio is the only cast member of The Departed that can hold a candle to Robert DeNiro, Joe Pesci (Nicholas Santoro, Senior-better known as Nicky Santoro, Senior, who was really the following: Anthony Spilotro, Senior-better know as Anthony "The Ant" Spilotro and Tony "The Ant" Spilotro) and Frank Vincent (Frankie Marino-who is or was really Frank Cullotta). Phillip Suriano (Dominick Santoro-who was really Michael Spilotro) was on par with Robert DeNiro, Joe Pesci and Frank Vincent.

Ok looks like you guy narrow it down to the departed. Can I add one more choice? No country for old men is selling for the same price. I search on IDMB because I have never seen it before either. They gave it 8.5 stars, and I think The Departed has the same. So which one do you guys recommend out of them two.
No Country For Old Men: definitely. Departed would also be my second choice. That said, if you shop around, you can probably get two of those (new) for the $20 you've got to spend, maybe more if you consider used resellers, like gohastings and half.com. I'd look at amazon's marketplace too, but amazon doesn't setup their marketplace to combine (discount) shipping on multiple items, even from the same vendor, so multi-disc orders usually cost more to ship than gohastings or half.com. Smaller vendors there also have to charge more than on sites like ebay/half.com to offset amazon's higher commission.

He asked that question over three years ago. My guess is he probably has made up his mind since then.

He sure did but anyway, I didn't like No Country for Old Men at all. The ending was really stupid, and I've said to myself: What the hell? I sold it the very next day! Casino, American Gangster, and The Departed are much better movies.

Hands down, Casino. IMO, The Departed was rubbish. I suspect many are afraid to dislike it because of Marty and the ensemble cast. BTW... for $20 you can get 2 of them. If you wait, you can probably get all 3. All of have been $5-$8 plenty of times in the past.
