Um No, it would be a 360, with a blu ray player

The point is highly valied,

adding a blu ray drive to a newer model 360, would Not work.PERIOD

It would still have the same design, the same type of HDD, the same crappy hardware, still have RROD,still have a brick of a power supply

it would still be, The XBOX 360, but with blu ray support

adding a blu ray drive to the NEXT XBOX, would be fine

PS. xbox 360 now already has HDMI

If you create an external add-on like the HD-DVD one and you still play DVD games in the 360 then you have the same system with Blu-Ray compatibility.

If you take the 360, change the DVD function to Blu-Ray that's going to require internal changes to amp HP and graphics to make use of the BD. Then you're going to have to add HDMI use so you can get the complete functionality...

With all those changes it wont be a 360 anymore.
so is the PS2 slim not a PS2 because internally and externally it was redesigned? a console is defined by its basic capabilities, if all it can do is play 360 games then it is a 360.

no, if you replace the BD drive with a DVD drive then it is a PS1 (I think), all PS3 games come on BD so you can't play any PS3 game, and PS2 compatibility was removed on newer models so it can't play PS2 games.

Oh well, it would be a bad player anways. No lossless audio. It would be only half of the player it should be.

I know, but I think they would still play on a PS3 (with a BD player replaced by DVD which can also play CD)
