I really don't understand what would be wise about it. The extra copies they would sell being multi-platform should more than make up for the costs of porting.
Count me in as another who understands the need for 3rd party developers to go multi-platform. It just costs way too much to develop games these days. As for the FFXIII issue, the only thing surprising to me about it is that if there was 1 game I thought Sony would be willing to pay to keep exclusive, it would be that one - well, maybe that and GTA (timed exclusive). The only fear I have with multi platform is OAR...
Was the directors intent furfilled, if not why, did he have to dumb down his vision to get it to work on every system... so there could be 1 unified vision or did he get to make it to his perfect as he possible could do... I worry that the painters paintbrush is not always his own... But I guess ill go in my corner and just hope that each directors vision was fulfilled.. |

SO4 being on the 360 bothers me but I'll wait until I play it to worry. Infinite Undiscovery was bad. Blue Dragon was...meh. Lost Odyssey was good, but not a system seller. So far I have been underwhelmed by the RPGs this generation...except for Tales of Vesperia (which after 120 hours I have finally completed and am extremely pleased with myself)
Folklore, Enchanted ARMs, Eternal Sonata...not system sellers. WKC looks a lot closer...but the reviews are very mixed. Series like Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy sell systems. New series and/or 1 shots seldom have lasting power. |

probably because i came out the same day as fallout 3 and all those other big titles that came out that day. wouldn't have mattered how much marketing they put to it, it'd be overshadowed outside of japan anyway. if there are any major differences, i would not hesitate to buy the new copy. i think i heard there were more side missions kinda like the castlefront st. stuff that were in the japanese games that we didn't get in NA prints. also, the anime project is refinancing a new budget, seems like the sales of hte game demand more of the anime, assuming it's for better key animators and in betweeners... it's all good news i say. edit: for those who didn't know the anime series will be for japanese TV and will run atleast 24 episodes. that's the main problem: SQ:E is a "PUBLISHER" pay them enough and you get treatment like that, don't and you see what happens Sony is not going to get into the Pay to play, instead invest into 1st and 2nd party and it's showing. uncharted, kz2 .etc |

I grabbed Valkyria Chronicles and it is amazing-with 1 complaint.
When moving the units and freelooking it's like a 3rd person shooter HOWEVER try and aim down crosshairs and it's not on the freelook stick but the movement stick. It should've been freelook /aim not move/aim that's just unnaturial. Not a game breaker but a minor annoyance for sure. SEGA ought to know better than to screw up basic controls like that. There's no option so you could change the aiming to freelook even so updateing the game can fix the only minor flaw making it perfect. Well i'm a left handed gamer who uses customizable playstation controlers as
default is useless to me,sans little big planet and the lego games. Any game where there's a "freelook" stick and a "movement" stick i need a certain way. While games like Resistance allow full customization most don't and without THRUSTMASTER'S help i simply couldn't play them. That means no MGS4,GTA4,WARHAWK,SOCOM etc. http://www.amazon.com/Dual-Trigger-R...2305960&sr=1-1 This controler has a FULLY reprogramable set-up,works on ps2,ps3 and pc but best of all has real gun triggers. So even if all you did was send l1/r1 to l4,r4 you'd still have a better layout. It's only flaw is being wired rather than wireless. In order to send the right stick to the left i 1st pushed preset then maping which sets it up to swich something then 1 direction at a time maped it to the left sticks click and sent it from the click by pressing again 1 direction at a time where it was going then the left sticks click to send it there. For whatever reason simply pressing left on the left stick then left on the right stick to send it there doesn't work but clicking the left stick then press ing left on the right stick and repeating by pressing left on the left stick then clicking the left stick works fine. Buttons map much easyier than sticks. On mine x,o^ and [] are moved over to the d-pad. In games they call it southpaw or left handed though some even use legacy which is even more convoluted as is mixes default and southpaw into a frankenscheme which some prefer to either default or southpaw. This controller could be set up for that as well. I even had someone re-wire my 360 pads to be southpaw funny enough wii is ambidextrous and works for all. A simple matter of switching hands so my wiimote is in my left hand not my right. |
