Well you can ask yourself that have any movie that come out on blu-ray. If it's cost than DVD are always cheaper. If you want the best video and sound out there Blu-ray is the way to go and HK company rulez for DTS/TrueHD or PCM in 7.1

Can someone comment on the subtitle once they have their copy of the movie? I'd like to know if the grammar of the subtitle are good or not. Thanks in advance y'all.

i assume it will be the same as the theatrical version and I've watched that version before and the subtitles were fine.

A few grammar errors and no problems with the subs.

PQ is very good 4/5, audio is incredible 5/5.

At least for me anyway.

Unfortunately, all the extra's are in SD, even the trailer. Good thing is their all subbed in English.

Ordered Ip man and Flash point. I think Ip man was ok, maybe a bit slow but a great movie indeed. I`ve never seen flash point, but Donnie Yen left me impressed so will check it out Sha po Lang any good?

What part of China town you get your movies? Is it same price as ordering online?

I love Sha Po Lang, great action scenes throughout the movie. Jacky Wu, donnie yen and sammo hung put out great action performances in this movie.

Flashpoint is a prequel of SPL and its not bad. The last fight scene though is marvelous. its about 20 mins plus and its simply short of amazing.

Both movies have great PQ and AQ. You wont be disappointed.

Im still waiting on my copy of Ip Man to ship from dddhouse...

I shop at P Tune & Video it's on 75 Chrystie Street. Prices are better then online in my opinion.

As far as SPL is concerned I loved it.

Where did you hear that Flashpoint was a prequel to SPL? That's the first time I'm hearing that.

for PQ/AQ, im sure someone would vouch for it, i got mine via our asian district here in milpitas, CA...

for the storyline alone, its well worth the purchase. as others have compared the movie to Jet Li's fearless...wrote a quick review in another forum, will share my thoughts here.

my introduction was a retraction of what ive considered donnie yen to be. honestly? i didnt like him in the beginning, both back then and now. its a personal preference, and hope we can leave it at that.

"i bow. i kneel. i fall to the ground in efforts to retract ... wait. i didnt say anything bad about the movie itself. just about donnie yen.

i was able to get a dvd from one of my sources here in the bay area, the other place i usually bought from, always had original dvds, always great customer service compared to others in the same area.

surprisingly, they had this one. i cant say its an 'original' (come on guys, for 11 bucks, plus the fact its not my 'kinda store' so to speak?)...

had a DTS track, in cantonese i think (i was at the GF's place, no HT system there)...

so... instead of the technical aspects of the movie, i shall move forward with the storyline and other details instead.

Amazing storyline, well development of characters were done early in the film, and also building the protagonist train of thought. its amazing how well donnie portrays this man, considering how donnie yen can be at times in previous movies. the urge i bet to 'strike a pose' and show himself off was non-existent. if he did that for most of his film, i wouldnt be bashing him so often.

anyhow, considering this was a period film, portraying the great Yip Man (this was 'loosely based' on his life, the great master bruce lee would meet in the near future and learn not only his skill but his philosophy.)

anyways, you can almost compare this to Jet Lis 'Fearless', in so many aspects, be it about a great fighter, or the fact that this is a period film, or simply because its about a persons determination. Mind you, Fearless has more of the wireless 'wu xia' feel to it when it came to fight scenes. this one, whoa, i have to say, is quite different due to Donnie Yens fighting style, Ng Muis close range kung fu - Wing Chun.

Fight scenes? like watching a hard copy of bruce lee without the screaming. With Donnie yen, all composed, and comparatively 'firm' is what i can describe it as. its like finding his confidence not in screaming, but in his knowledge he has a rigid amount of training, and anticipation of the other party to 'reveal' his weakness. Fantastic fights, amazing moves, and just something i didnt expect from the Face.

Will i suggest you to purchase this? IN A HEARTBEAT. should i chose this over Fearless? IN A HEARTBEAT. would i forever sign my life towards the donnie yen fan club? HELL NO.

This movie, albeit its smaller flaws here and there, is impeccable. its been a very very long time since ive divulge myself in the world of asian cinema, and this was the ticket. "

If i was to purchase this once again, id probably stick to yesasia.com. ive used them quite fairly, and got a good experience with them. not the cheapest of course, but hey, you sometimes get what you pay for..

i dunno what the term for this issue is but...

in the beginning when Master Liu walked into Ip Man's house, i noticed a slight trailing affect when he walked. Btw, I was watching the TV at a slight angle so I dunno if that was the cause. Anyone noticed this issue?
