I am assuming "Growing up" is the time spent at home before you moved out. Most of you are going to scratch your heads with these names......

Howdy Doody
Captain Kangaroo
Beverly Hillbillies
Gunsmoke
Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color
Bonanza
Gomer Pyle USMC
Dick Van Dyke Show
Andy Griffith Show
Lassie
McHale's Navy
Wagon Train
My Three Sons
Rawhide
The Real McCoys
and..... I Love Lucy, followed by The Lucy Show

In a couple of months I will be 60. I can hear you thoughts now....... Who the hell is Howdy Doody?

A few that I loved that haven't been mentioned:

TV's Bloopers and Practical Jokes (I used to go and watch this on the old black & white TV since I was apparently alone in my love for the show)
Unsolved Mysteries
Benson (It's hard to forget the characters on that show, especially Rene Auberjonois as Clayton Endicott III)

A couple of late night favorites:
Twilight Zone
Friday the 13th: The Series (the red head was so hot and the show was pretty creepy)
Tales from the Darkside (a cheap Twilight Zone rip-off but the episode where the people get trapped in the tomb with the mummy and play strip poker to save their lives is a classic)

UNSOLVED MYSTERIES!!!!! Man I used to watch that a lot. It scared the crap out of me. Either with the UFO stories or the wanted fugitives that could be around the corner. LOL

In Arizona we also had the legendary 'Wallace & Ladmo', and we had 'Friday Night Frights with Edmus Scary'. I think every kid that grew up in Arizona watched 'Wallace & Ladmo' like a religion.

haha Man I love this thread. So many different and such a wide variety of shows. Just looking back on all of the ones that I watched was a great ride down memory lane.

Why can't life be as simple as it was way back when we were all younger? No responsibility and the best shows in the world!

I think it's cool how people from different countries and different generations still grew up on some of the same shows I did.
