One line is the voltage going into the APC, the other is the voltage going out. |

what's up all; I, too, was one to jump on this as the price seemed really good. Hooked it all up today and went to work. Came back and it looks like I'm having some issues...
When I came back from work, I decided to change the dimmer setting on the LED display. After doing so I noticed that the LINE OK LED was off and the TRIM LED was on. Odd as nothing I had plugged into APC was turned on at the time. I turned my TV on and....pooof... the LINE OK led went back on and the TRIM went back off. I decided to retrace my steps and pressed the setup button to change the dimmer again. When I did so, the overload and boost leds came on when I pressed the select button. BOth went back off when I again hit setup to confirm dimmer setting. I have sent APC an email as well. This really bites as I am as far from being an electrician as can be and will admit to not having a clue....what I am not understanding is why I would have my TRIM indicator go off as I turn more equipment on???? Here's what I have hooked up: PS3, Oppo DV970 to Digital Filtering outlets (PS3 to Aux and Oppo to DVD); Sima 3x1 HDMI switcher to Analog Filter outlet (PreAmp/Reciever) until my reciever arrives and then it would take its place Sony 34XBR970 to Video Filter Outlet (TV) Standard cable coax to in on APC out to TV (cable is split among rooms if that makes a difference); APC was originally plugged into a 6 outlet surge protector thingy that plugs into normal outlet. Thinking that might be the culprit I have since plugged it into a normal outlet with same things happening.... anyone out there who might can help?????? Thanks so much............ |

When the trim LED is on, it means there is too much voltage than needed at the time. Therefore, when U turn on Ur devices; there is a greater demand for electricity. More devices consuming electricity; thus bringing back the line voltage to normal (Line OK Led on). Therefore, the APC does not need to trim the voltage anymore (TRIM LED Off). |

thanks for the replies....any thoughts on why when I go to change a setting; specifically, press SETUP, then SELECT to choose setting; that I get three indicator LEDs: LINE BOOST, LINE TRIM, and OVERLOAD which remain on till I again press SETUP? Then it all goes back to normal. EDIT: APC answered that ? for me; said it is entirely normal for OVERLOAD LED to light up when adjusting the dimmer so you can see how bright(or dim) it will be....that makes sense....guessed I panicked when I saw a Red LED Still talking with APC at this time even though I think all is good...might as well have all my ?'s answered and they seem very professional and nice; asking about appropriate AVR range at the moment Last edited by jaymzbo; 02-19-2009 at 01:46 AM. |

In some setups its preferential to turn on the display last or there is HDCP handshaking issues. In others the subwoofer or speakers may pop if they're given power without a signal, etc. |

Have any fellow owners bought or plan to buy a separate battery backup? If so, which one did you choose and why?
I am on the fence on this but am leaning towards the side of thinking it is not necessary for my needs. At the same time, we had a storm last night where I live and while we only lost power for a period of less than I'd wager to be 1-2 seconds, it was long enough to turn all HT equipment off at the same time. That may be disconcerting enough for me to consider getting a UPS unit...but which one(s) play nicely with the H15? |

Uhm, EVERY major speaker, receiver, television and electronics company worth their salt does this. This is a completely common practice.

![]() It does. I was having problems with digital breakup on my HD-DVR, had the cable people out and the response was about 2-4dB down, which is quite a bit. Fortunately he found a split he could get rid of further up the line (outside) and compensated for it. |

your supposed to keep it on all the time. Reason is for protection from surges. Your equipment could still get effected by a power surge even though it is off. One thing I would ask though, is how many people really do leave theirs on all the time? So far, mine has been on since I got it.
