There are something worse then remakes. Movies that rip off the idea of successful box office movies.

Examples Trandmorphers, Snakes on a Train, or The Day Earth Stopped. Somehow Judd Nelson and C. Thomas Howell are always involved...

I do not think we will ever see a remake of Ben Hur
or Casablanca
or Gone With the Wind.

I honestly believe there would be public outcry.

Now I could see them tinkering with Ben Hur and giving it some updated special effects..... although I would not be in favor of that.

Personally, I think remakes can be a good thing if handled the right way. Some really old films like King Kong can be remade with todays effects and be wonderful.

some of them are really good
like:
kingkong

and again some of them are bite to dust
journey to the center of the earth...this one is only good for graphics
the only scene i like it is ...in the begining the big bug just looks right thru the screen if u watch in 3-d the bug's feelers just poke you

otherthan that whole movie poke me out of the theatre
