I look forward to playing dirt when it comes out. I probably won't have the game on launch day. Instead I add the name to my list of games to play and then when I finish all of my old games, I get new ones.

cool screens. the environments look fantastic. hopefully they are comparable to Gran Turismo HD. i have this game on pre-order with a ship date of September 5th. hopefully it won't get pushed back like Burnout Paradise has twice now.

With my H/W setup I can't comment on the lossless audio if that's in the demo but Codemasters certainly tightened up the racing experience. I didn't experience any slowdown or tearing while racing and I think it helps the controls feel more responsive, I oversteered and overcompensated a lot less than in the 360 demo as I felt my input was shown quickly more consistently. Replays still aren't quite smooth, definitely something to work on for the next game if it isn't already sorted for the full game on Blu-ray.

I had better control on this over the 360 version as well. i guess the PS controller is just more comfortable in my hands, lol. I couldnt stay on the track on the 360, and i just won two races far ahead of the pack.

that said, DiRT isnt really my cup of tea. very nice from what I see though.

Also, i LOVE the menu system. I wish I could browse the net, or at least my email in that fashion.

Actually, if you use an external car view theres still some tearing while racing, not just in replays. I'm a bumper-cam person though.

The menu presentation is nicely done, you can tilt the loading graphics with the right analog stick, didn't think to try the SIXAXIS tilt.

Cool demo, seems like a challenging racing game. I remember watching a video about deforming race tracks but I dont remember if this was the game. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

I played the demo on my 360 and wasn't impressed. I guess after playing Formula 1, everything else seems too slow. I may buy it for my PS3 as a game for friends/family that may come over and like that type of game (I'm nice like that).

ugh...i am at work while you guys are all playing this . so there is some tearing? that is really disappointing. the replay looked like it was gonna be a huge part of the game, but if it runs choppy...that is super lame. yes, this is the game where you can damage the track and environment. have any of you crashed into stuff or destroyed a guard rail? how does it look?

I played the demo last night for a little while. DiRT is ok, but I think Motostorm is a better "mash-em-up" racing game.

I haven't seen any tearing. I have smashed up a few guard rails and they deform nicely. It really feels like I am watching a race. great looking game.

Demo was disappointing. I hate the controls and the sensitivity. Also you don't even go fast half the time because of the size of the dirt roads and turns. Eh I may rent it.

Is Dirt Supposed to be a simulation? It seems a little easy. Compared to the rally stages in Gran Turismo 4, which were hell, this is like cake. Although it's not as arcade-ish as Motorstorm.

its a good game, its sold me. i do think the braking on it is way too easy, you don't slide like you would in real life, the dirt on it doesn't look good close up (its low res, i wonder why?), but from cockpit view you can't really tell, damage could be a tad better, those are my only real beefs. overall its an 8.3. when you run the demo with the cintroen does anybody fully understand what you co-pilot is saying to you, i get a little of it, but not all of it and i think it would help me out.

The braking seemed to harsh to me. I was sliding around like a b. Like 90-180 degrees from a breaking turn. Big reason why I didn't like it .. and its slow. Maybe I would just have to get used to the sensative controls but overall just didn't appeal to me. I think the damage system is kind of a gimic to cover up a possibly mediocre game.

its slow????? i averaged 62 mph down a dirt road that was not wider than 4 meters, thats moving pretty quick. the controls are nothing as sensative as something like the rally races in the gran turismo series, gt made this game look very arcady. the damage system is alright, but could be a tad more deeper.
