Cool Dirt 2 Demo is Promising on PS3!

Anyone else check out and like the PS3 Dirt 2 Demo?

I was impressed cause I noticed that the frame-rate was great, and there was little to no hint of "jaggies" I all too often see in PS3 titles running at 720p. Not to mention the scenery is spectacular, and "dirt"y!

IMHO on the PS3 there should NEVER be jaggies!

I may just pick up Dirt 2 this Sept. 8th...

BTW: Man, my wallet is getting smaller, and smaller this year. So much good to get lately!

Loved the user interface, found going inside/outside the trailer and track selection really neat.

Doubt it will be a purchase for me, but it's nice to see some improvements.

The graphics were impressive, but definitely not jaw-dropping in anyway.

Played the demo on the 'other' system as my PS3 is no more, and I must admit I enjoyed it. The first time I did the point-2-point race I was all over the place and was starting to think "I hate this", but I gave it a few more goes, got more used to the handling of the car, and in the end thought it was decent. And the user interface is pretty cool. With this, NFS Shift (prays it's decent) and (of course) Gran Turismo 5, petrol heads are being spoilt.

Does anybody know if the G25 wheel works with this?

There will ALWAYS be jaggies this gen. Even at native 1920x1080p and 2xMSAA, there are jaggies. MSAA also blurs the image more and more as additional MSAA is added. Personally, I have a hard time seeing jaggies at 1920x1080p 4xMSAA. However, jaggies don't bother me at all.

I downloaded the demo, but I haven't installed it just yet. I'm curious to see if Codemasters will continue their 7.1 LPCM audio and additional DSP effects on this sequel.

Yes it certainly does and it works very well. It makes the game much more enjoyable. After playing the demo for Dirt2, I had to go and check to see if the wheel worked with the original Dirt game and it does.....I never checked before because I was too busy playing the NFS and Prologue and F1 game.

People often forgot that the video card install on ps3 is like geforce 7, they pretty much push the max what you can do in those old video card, you can't compete in the same level as pc card. I do wish future console has upgrade option like video card.

Thanks for the heads up... I'll grab that demo tonight.

Last night I downloaded the demo for WET. What a complete waste of time. Average graphics and terrible controls. Don't waste your time with it.

Loved it! The original DIRT is still one of my top 5 favorite games released on PS3 so far!

I loved the first 1. Been playing this demo every chance i get. Only thing that im hating is during the truck race people drive like they doing a demolition derby. Bad drivers suck. I love driving the eclipse, that race is really fun too. Am for sure getting Dirt 2 on the 8 and GT 5 once it gets in stores. Gotta love a overdose of racing.

So it also works with the original Dirt and Formula 1 CE game? I need to get myself one of those seats to get full benefit of the G25. And a new PS3 obviously

Never. Going. To. Happen.

Dirt2 was my first download once the Slim was hooked up and i enjoyed playing it this morning. Looks interesting and i'll have to see whether i get it or not. With Grid here already and GT5 in December it might be one that i miss out on for now.

i liked the demo very much. but, i think the visuals are better in the original DiRT. maybe i am crazy, but it seemed more realistic. the engine definitely improved for the better...but the vehicles in DiRT2 appear more detailed than the environment and they stick out like a cartoon car. almost as if it has an outline...like it doesn't belong.
