You are confusing this movie with Jim Morrison and the lizard king me think

Fans have been waiting to find out when we’d get to see Lucasfilm’s first non-Star Wars or Indiana Jones film in two decades and today we might have our answer. Anthony Hemingway, the director of The Tuskegee Airmen film Red Tails, produced by George Lucas, just tweeted that the film will be released in January 2012. With the recent news that Terence Blanchard will be scoring the film this month in Prague, that sounds just about right. Not that there’s a rush, Lucas has been developing the film for 20 years and it began shooting several years ago.

sounds really promising to be honest. So it was George that put those gophers in Indy 4..man they were totally Howard the Duck worthy. Otherwise, I wish him and the crew the best of luck.

Exactly!

If anyone has ever seen THE TUSKEGEE AIRMAN of 1995

STARRING:
Laurence Fishburne (21, The Matrix Trilogy, Mystic River, Predators), Allen Payne (Jason's Lyric, The Perfect Storm), Malcolm-Jamal Warner (The Cosby Show - TV Series, Drop Zone, Fool's Gold), Courtney B. Vance (Law & Order, Space Cowboys, The Hunt for Red October), Andre Braugher (Salt, Frequency, Primal Fear, Glory), Christopher McDonald (The Perfect Storm, Requiem for a Dream, Quiz Show), Daniel Hugh Kelly (Law & Order, Bad Company, Cujo, The Good Son), John Lithgow (Third Rock From the Sun - TV Series, Cliffhanger, Ricochet, Memphis Belle), Mekhi Phifer (8 Mile, ER - TV Series, Soul Food), AND oh, by-the-way, CUBA GOODING JR. (Pearl Harbor, Men of Honor, Instinct, What Dreams May Come, As Good As It Gets, and Jerry Maguire)

I miss seeing Cuba Gooding Jr. on the big screen. Seems Hollywood doesn't honor one of their best talents. Solid actor to me

Very underrated movie... and a SOLID cast as well

It's about freaking time Lucas produced something other than "Star Wars" in this generation!

Trailer and Release Date for Producer George Lucas’ RED TAILS

The first trailer has been release for the action-drama Red Tails. Produced by George Lucas and directed by Anthony Hemingway, the movie is based on the true story of the Tuskegee Airmen, the first all-black African-American combat squadron who fought in World War II. Red Tails has been in development for years but now it looks like it has finally become a reality and that reality is filled with cool aerial combat and grandiose speeches. No one in this trailer makes a statement that is not of monumental importance to the dignity of our nation and the history of the human race. But that’s what the trailer is designed to sell: action and gravitas but I hope the film is, at least where the dialogue is concerned, a little more grounded.

The film stars Cuba Gooding Jr., Terrence Howard, Bryan Cranston, Brandon T. Jackson, and Nate Parker. Red Tails opens January 20, 2012.

I can't wait to see it.

The dialogue in that trailer was as stale as bread that had been left out in the sun for a month.

I think GL is one of the most overrated people in Hollywood, only 2 movies he directed are worth watching, American Graffiti and episode 4. And besides that he really hasn't directed much else. Sure Spielberg does crap but at least he tries to do new things. I'm also tired of GL constant complaining about waiting for the technology to catch up to his vision, gimme a break GL, perhaps you should just focus on you know...A STORY with REAL characters with REAL dialogue beside trying to make a CG mess of everything.

anyway, as long as he isnt calling the shots or writing the final dialogue it has a chance at being good (it sounds like a good story)

"we finally have the means" cue the CGI!!

im glad he is letting someone else direct, that usually turns out good for his movies (USUALLY)
Many like to say that Lucas should give his franchises to other directers after some questionable story decisions he has made. However in 1978 he did exactly that with Star Wars and the result was the Star Wars Holiday Special which may be the single worst thing ever to be showen on television (and yes I have seen Jersey Shore). I think how terrible the holiday special was terrified Lucas into keeping such a hard grip on his franchises. Unfortunitly movies are suppose to be a team effort. Lucas has some good ideas but also plenty of bad ones and a proper team effort would have filtered the good from the bad. However Lucas refused to listen to anyone and surrounded himself with suck-ups and the result was a dip in quality of the story telling
