I actually got on the edge of my seat a few times during this one. Worth a look if you haven't seen it IMHO.

Yep, the same chick that was mistaken for a boy in Panic Room. Amazing what a few years will do for you

I wouldn't say it was bad, it just didn't have any depth. The beginning was probably the best part. The rest of the film was just an average horror film. Nothing memorable or too intense. PQ was nice.

Ahh... I didn't realize that was her. She looks hot now.

I'm going to buy the movie today.

Thanks for the comments guys. I'm not expecting super great plot or super scary or anything. My main requirement is the PQ and good presentation/set. I don't watch much scary movies so this should be more than good enough to get me jump. HA HA.

I watched this through Netflix. I definately wouldn't buy it. PQ is good but the movie is your average PG-13 horror flick at best.

I did not realize it was her. Gracious!

If you're not a big horror viewer I'll bet there are parts that will creep you out. Let us know!

The trick with all horror films is not to go in with a defiant "you can't scare me" attitude. No film can punch through that.

You've gotta be willing to go with the film and let your mind work over what's happening..

The Ring and The Grudge probably could for most. Both of those originals were pretty creepy

At one time I would say. People seem to have gotten shorter attention spans in recent years.

It was ok for me. It could have been ALOT better, but alot of things were left unanswered and it had the B movie kind of feeling to me.
I didn't get the basement thing....was it a wood floor or not????

Movie wasn't that good. Kind of predictable. PQ is good though

I finally got it to work on my setup and watched the movie tonight.

Wow.

This movie is great. It's scary as hell. I got off the chair and ran away. The girl in the movie is a hottie It didn't get too scary at the end but.. still good overall. PQ is awesome most of the time. Very few scenes where I saw being out of focus but other than that it seems better than any other Blu-Ray movies I have seen before except for Apocalypto which is sick good. Definitely worth every dollar I spent. I'm glad I bought it.

I think the short attention span nowadays has a lot to do with this. The scariest horror movies like The Exorcist, Alien, The Haunting (1963) and The Shining to pick a few obvious examples are actually paced really steadily to build up the atmosphere and chills.

Default The Messengers BD freezing

Hi to all!

Any one having playback problems with The Messengers BD?

At 41 minutes the movie freezes.

Sometimes after a lot of tries the player can play from that point again, but others it's impossible to play the movie again.

I have a Samsung BD-P1200 player with the latest firmware.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Confe

Nope, we've watched the movie twice (on a PS3) and absolutely no freeze problems. I don't want to seem accusatory, but I've started to see a pattern of new posters appearing periodically and announcing that they have a freeze problem with Blu-ray. But veteran posters who have watched the same BD movie haven't had the problem. Possibly pure coincidence.

I only asked for help. I have 16 BD discs already and this it's the first one with problems.

For your information I just switch from HD DVD to Blu-Ray a month ago and no turning back.

So don't be so defensive, I am just asking for help because this is the first disc that gave me a problem.

Thanks,

Confe

Cool

I have that player and the movie and I haven't had a problem. Exchange the movie if you can, probably something with the disc.
