If you don't interpret that being racist, then it is a ongoing issue on non-racism. Great post then

its an ongoing issue because many of his previous posts seem to be centered around some conflict with black people. I beleive his comment on reverse racism and his impression of black slang in a post about the paparatzi was a red flag for me

That's one hell of job or reading between the lines. (I wonder what I really just said in my last sentence in your mind, maybe something like "Jabala is all knowing, sacrifice all virgins to me and you will be saved on the 3rd day of Christmas").

or maybe he literally just meant what he said from memory that TH said he didn't get the Lost job because he was black and they don't let black guys on the show. All without a secret message fueled with intense racism.

lets get back to the subject of the thread before someone regrets it

this is a pm kind of discussion

don't want no body getting suspended if this escalates

It's not even a PM type discussion.

I don't love him but he seems a decent chap. Fairly good actor to boot.

I think this is a sentiment most could agree with.

Just disappointing to have one actor do a character, then switch it because of stupid things like this. I'd've loved to have had Cheadle in Iron Man, but with Howard there, I would've also liked to have seen him reprise the role, even if he wouldn't be as good with it.

Oh, and if Marvel went back on a contract, he has the right to sue them. Odds are that Marvel didn't agree to anything in writing, because if they did, they'd be getting served by Howard's lawyers.

Everything else results {mostly} in the actor getting a set rate, just like the producer, the writer, the gaffer, etc. etc. etc.
I'm not the most familiar with this sort of thing, but I know Jack Nicholson got this sort of a deal for his Joker in 1989's Batman. Ended up making it the highest paid role in a movie, even to this day if I recall.

It's not that uncommon a happening, but I'd never think Marvel would have agreed to such a deal with such a support character's actor. And like I said, if they had, they'd be getting sued over it if they didn't follow through.

The only person Terrence Howard should be pissed at is his layers for not making his contract air tight. So what if Marvel swapped him. I like continuity in roles but I cannot even remember his role that clearly. Have to watch the film again to see if I can spot him.

I hate nothing more than recasting actors. If Marvel was retarded enough to overpay Howard on the first film then it's their own fault. I highly doubt he would have expected to get more than RDJ for the sequel, I'm sure he would understand that the only reason he got paid so much on the first film is because he was the first one cast.

If you don't sign on for another sequel or walk away from the table, you should reap what you sew and shut the hell up about it.

Logan
-Tom Cruise - Mission: Immpossible (30% of the gross Deal)

-Harrison Ford, George Lucas and Steven Spielberg would receive their percentages after the studio broke even for Inidana Jones IV

-Similar arrangement for Leonardo DiCaprio and Russel Crowe for Body of Lies

-Jim Carey in Yes Man, forego his usual upfront $25 million and agree on 33% of gross revenue after studio recoups it's epenses

- J. Michael Straczynski for writing and directing Babylon 5 series

I was looking forward to Terrance Howard being in Iron Man 2. Don Cheadle can be like watching paint dry sometimes.. he doesn't seem like the comic adaption type. But hey.. maybe it'll work out!

not true at all. a lot of times actors are giving deals whereby the get a cut of the profits. it happens a lot.

that well may be, but it doesn't mean he doesn't raise some valid points.

i'm in complete agreance with you on this. people are blowing this all out of proportion. your points are very spot on.
Both types of deals happen alot. We will never know what type of deal Howard had.

He's bitter and has an attitude problem, on top of being the worse performance of the movie. The only reason I would want him to stick around is continuity, but it sounds like he'd suck the life out of the role at this point.

Keep in mind that I like Howard alot. We will never know the exact details of his deal with Marvel, but Howard is no Tom Cruise, Harrison Ford, or Jim Carey. The fact that they get those deals does not surprise me. Howard just isn't at that level, yet. I hope he one day is.

dude was the worst thing about iron man. as far as RDJ getting a raise (if he even did), he's the main character, it's a lot easier to replace a 2ndary character than the main one if the issue of money comes up.

i hate to break it to howard, he didn't make that movie what it was!!!
