"Dirty" is a trademark look in RZ films. Some films broader than others. With each successive one getting grosser in look. 31 is pretty damn nasty. I love them dearly though. Every last one.

I revisited both House and Devils Rejects about 2 months ago and each film not only holds up remarkably well, but I do believe may have had the usual horror advantage of actually being better now that we are so far removed from their release. I'm looking forward to seeing how Zombie decides to wrap things up on this franchise. Does he put a nice little bow on things and end the franchise at a trilogy or does he leave it open knowing full well that this is the best idea he has spawned and that future entries are almost a guaranteed success?

I had no problems playing this on my previous Sony player but when I put it in my new Sony UPB-X800M2, I just get a black screen. Anyone else? Is there sometimes some kind of format mismatch with early BDs and newer players?

Try turning off the internet connection on your new player and then playing the disc. If that doesn't solve it, it's also possible your disc is in the early stages of failure and your new player is more sensitive to it than the older player.

Sid looks really old and Sheri is pushing it with her lip wrinkles in the bow and arrow scene lol but otherwise she’s still hot with her ear piercing laugh.

I'm going to see "3 From Hell" in the theater Monday night. So I decided to watch the first two movies as it has been years since I've seen them. My House Of 1,000 Corpses disc won't play at all, which sucks. Are new discs of this okay? Was it only early pressings that rot?

From what I have heard several LG releases have an issue.

It's a Lionsgate thing, I'm only aware of it affecting their older discs. I've contacted them about it twice and they claim not to have heard about any issues and shrug it off. So far, I've had to replace Reservoir Dogs, Rambo III, and House of 1,000 Corpses. Luckily my replacement copies were substantially cheaper than the originals I picked up right when they were first released. Now I basically place mental bets with myself about what will fail next. Sling Blade? The Descent? Monster's Ball?

Haven't watched mine in years and years. It was one of the first blus I got, I think. If I recall, it was part of a promo when I bought my playstation, send in the UPC and get 3 blurays. I got this, The Descent and something else. Should definitely check them, especially the Descent because that's one of my favorite horror movies. Don't want that one going bad on me!

I hear The Devil's Rejects disc is also a problem one, but mine still works just fine. I wonder if I should get the 2-pak just in case my TDR disc goes bad.

Both this and The Devil's Rejects are in major need of fresh 4K Ultra HD restorations with lossless audio mixes.

Agreed! I just noticed my copy of Devils Rejects went missing, and was disappointed to see that there hasn’t been a 4k upgrade of it or House of 1k Corpses put out yet. I guess I’ll just have to order a$5 copy of the original blu again in the meantime.

Does this German set have better transfers than the US releases and are they region free?
