See?! No need to worry. I don't understand why a lot of you were so quick with cancelling this. It would've been funny if they'd increased the price together with the delayed release announcement

Good news. I resisted pre-ordering - up till now, that is...
I Will follow this closely, though, ready to cancel if need be.

Question:

even if this seems very unlikely to happen here, have there ever been cases of Amazon sending a pre-order long time ahead of the scheduled release date? (Let's say, a month, just for the sake of argument )

Earliest I have had to official release date is one full week. This only happened once. Had one received 5 days early too but if I recall it was either bank holiday or Xmas so thought nothing of it. Doubt one month.

Rejoice!!

At least until we discover that they've taken a month to just correct the typos at the end of FRENZY.

Good news! Hopefully they make it as good of a set as it should be. I can live with 5 November, but I hope that is enough time to correct whatever issues need attention.

As long as I still get my UK Universal Classic Monster Coffin by Halloween I'll be happy.

Nick Wrigley pointed out earlier on Twitter that the non-limited edition of The Masterpiece Collection is only £69.95 at The Hut. (Maybe it's a version with all the "bad" films missing!)

I've replaced the preorder for the limited edition. I trust they will get it right this time, knowing that people who want this set care about quality.

I know it's a better deal than Amazon...but just curious...does the Hut charge VAT, if you live in the US (not in the UK)?

Also £69.95 on Zavvi. It's just over £70 on sendit if you take into account shipping.

I don't know if the VAT is added additionally for UK customers or is just included as-is with the price, but I know that nothing will be subtracted at checkout like it is with Amazon for US customers at Hut/Zavvi.

That is technically incorrect. Their prices include VAT so they should deduct 20% of the price. I'd send them an email and ask for an explanation.

I keep seeing the 20% figure but what Amazon deducts is 16.666...% of the price (one-sixth).

And that may be what the others should deduct also but they don't. One reason I almost always order my British blus from Amazon.

VAT is always included with the display price, but businesses can choose to charge the VAT even when they don't have to, in the case of people importing. Amazon are just nice.
