I really liked it, but it had its faults and I still think Casino Royale is the best of the trilogy.

Hope this one to be good as Skyfall. Can't wait to see Bond 24 in theaters.

I enjoyed Skyfall much more than Casino Royale, which by no means is flawless.

One thing's for sure:

Both Casino Royale & Skyfall are much better than Quantum Of Solace.

Never has a film opinion been closer to an objective truth.

Another thing is for sure:

Quantum of Solace is still great (maybe this belongs in the UO thread?)

I was disappointed on my initial viewing, but I've grown to really enjoy Quantum of Solace over time. Is it as good as Casino Royale or Skyfall? Not to me. But I'll take it any day over Moonraker or A View to a Kill. Hell, there are several Bond films I prefer Quantum of Solace over. I recognize the problems with the film, but there are plenty of good parts too, and for me the good outweighs the bad.

I agree. Both are SO MUCH superior to Quantum of Solace, so I hope that Bond 24 will be good as both.
Besides the fact that Eva Green plays Vesper on CR (I just love her, it's one of my favorite actresses)

Yeah hopefully the new one is more like Casino Royale & Skyfall then Quantum Of Solace in terms of quality.

James Bond 24 Gets a Start Date

Quote:
James Bond 24 Gets a Start Date

We've known for some time now that the upcoming Bond 24 will begin production in December, originally slated for October with script rewrites resulting in a delay, and now My Entertainment World brings word that production on the film will begin on December 6. The film will shoot at Pinewood Studios in the UK in addition to location shooting in Austria and Rome.

Daniel Craig, Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris and Ben Whishaw are returning for the 24th installment, which will again be directed by Skyfall helmer Sam Mendes. Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson will produce.

Still without an official title, Bond 24 is scheduled to hit theaters on November 6, 2015.

Still no announcement on who's the villain? Last time I heard, Chiwetel Ejiofor was rumored, but it seems that ain't happening.

There haven't been any rumors for the villain part except for him. I'll be surprised if they come out and say the part has been given to someone else.

That's definitely not "for sure".

I'd easily take Moonraker over Quantum of Solace. At least Moonraker is fun to watch, every penny is on the screen and it has a sense of humor about itself.

Personally I'll take Moonraker over Casino Royale any day. Sorry, but these uber-serious Bourne clones don't really scream James Bond to me, nor do I find them particularly entertaining. Skyfall was definitely a step in the right direction though, much more exciting and fun, and with a sense of humour again. More like that please.

All I want is for it to be good. Give us a good memorable villain, even though some fine actors have played the villains in the later films, there hasn't been a truly memorable villain since Robert Davi in Licence To Kill and Sean Bean in Goldeneye. But that is my opinion.

Ha! Whoops. Listen, this is the Internet. It's not true unless you've seen it reposted countless times.

I found Moonraker to be kind of boring, actually. I'm not too keen on many of the Roger Moore films. The only ones with him in the starring role that I really enjoy are The Spy Who Loved Me and For Your Eyes Only. And I also haven't seen Octopussy, so I guess I should watch that one as well. Quantum of Solace really only bothers me in the editing department, and Marc Forster's previous inexperience with action really shows. Oh, and the title song isn't that great either. But other than that, I still find plenty of enjoyment when I watch it.

Well it obviously depends on what you're looking for and when you started. I grew up watching the Moore films and love them to death. Quantum of Solace is completely disposable nonsense to me and feels more like a Bourne movie than a Bond movie.
