One of the few films id go to the movies for instead of waiting for the BD. I enjoyed the remake as well as every other film in the series.

That's true, was just thinking the past films worked with unknowns. This being them trying to bring back a franchise feel like they will have some one reconizable in it. Not against Daddario in it she sure has the looks.

That's why studio's are generally very dumb. Stars don't really sell movies anymore. Fans are smartening up to it. Also, having a recognizable name has never been important in selling a movie to the Horror audience.

Hopefully this film will touch upon the socioeconomic politics of the times as well as deal with such things as religious divides and gender inequality around the world.

Pretty sure she does, since that means quite literally nothing to 99% of movie goers. I think she'd rather be acting than going to conventions as a scream queen meaning very little, and working even less.

I would be happy if they could use the sequel as a chance to finally explain how Pamela Voorhees thinks her beloved son is dead, even though he's actually alive the whole time she's killing camp councilors.

...it's a plot hole big enough to drive a Mack truck through.
