Yes sir!
I don't mind the "What's your favorite color threads", but prefer to keep them out of the main thread. Just the hard news there please!
Ditto the NA BD thread as the opinion threads get a little tiresome after about the 400th one.

A conundrum I'm sure has been asked a million times over but how on earth do you organise yours? I'm having some kind of existential crisis following a recent move about the display. Do you keep all your steels together, then regular blu rays? Do you slot them in among your blu rays? What happens when it's a franchise and one is a steel but the rest aren't? Or worse still, some are still DVD? Oy vey.

1) My movie collection is sorted by package and alphabetically with the exception of franchises. Those are chronological with the first being sorted alphabetically. Example: The Dark Knight trilogy starts at 'B' with Batman Begins with The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises immediately after it. My collection consists of steels, then slipcovers, then boxed sets. Amarays are under my TV on that stand.

2) You mean your franchises don't have matching packaging? I ensure all my franchises match with slips, amarays, or steels even if it means replacing (for example) an amaray for a steelbook or upgrading from DVD to blu-ray.

My eye twitches when I go to one of my friend's houses. His Iron Man trilogy consists of the first being on DVD, a slipcovered blu-ray of the second, and a non-slipcovered blu-ray of the third. And they are all next to each other. *shudders*

The lack of matching packaging bothers me immensely but budget reasons and all that.

I don't have it in me to buy a bunch of Resident Evil steels to match the Afterlife one I have, or to match the slip version of Retribution.

I have two media shelves that house the majority of my Blus/steels. I have two other shelves that hold my premium sets (BluFans, Film Anena, etc.). I have one shelf for all my DVDs.

Blus/Steels are in alphabetical order. Steels are mixed in. Like Mertz said, I try to keep my franchises/sequels together, so my Angels & Demons is right next to my DaVinci Code.

At the bottom of one of my shelves is a section for all TV show Blus. I do have a few outliers as well, like I have all Stephen King based movies together. I have some sets by themselves, like Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, other collections. I have Christmas steelbooks by themselves. I do keep my Marvel and DC titles separated, each on their own shelves.

I keep my Disney animated titles, along with non-Disney animated titles in the same area so that my kids can reach them and select.

EDIT: I also keep other collections separated, such as Criterion Collection, Arrow, Kino Lorber, etc.

Would a 4K disc fit in a steel book if I got the 4K from another Blu-ray case? Thanks in advance!

When I have a Steelbook AND a nice Blu ray edition of the same movie - I house them TOGETHER in the steelbook section with the Steelbook Central Jumbo S6.
Fits LIKE A GLOVE.

Apologies if this has been asked before - what do you guys usually do with the cardboard fold over backing that comes with some steelbooks? That look like the back of the standard packaging?

Some call that a J card. You can keep it with the steel, slide it in a protective case with steel, throw it in a drawer, throw it in the round file. No doubt someone could give a couple of more uses.

Now that I have some Zavvi, steels, I wish the 1/4 slips were the norm, instead of J's.

I keep them. I use them to protect the back of the SteelBook when it is on the shelf from rubbing against other SteelBooks.

I have this magical blue bin that I keep mine in. It appears to be bottomless as I never run out of room in there for slipcovers of any and all kinds!

I meant the recycling trash

Also all of my slipcovers, slipcases, picture cards and lenti's. I am a SteelBook collector, not a cardboard collector

Like everyone else... I just throw the cards in a large box... all my steelbooks go in SC2 sleeves... no cards.
