Funny, Randy is actually talking this season - instead, "Yo dog, I just don't know. . . you know. . . it just wasn't. . . *sucks in breath*. . . yeah dog". . .

I think he has a lot of confidence that he knows what will work and what won't.

What Steven and J-Lo seem to not understand yet (and what Randy keeps pointing out) - is that these guys need to change up the songs and make them their own. You can't sing a song the exact same way the original artist sang it - it makes you look very uncreative.

He keeps saying that, but Steven and J-Lo brush it off and say it was a good performance - maybe - but it didn't stand out.

The last girl, Pia, blew it out of the water.

The girls were boring as hell. The guys own this season.

I think he's doing fine; he's been harsh when he didn't like something but when he likes it why would he try to come up with something negative if he thought it was good?

Naw man last season pretty much Randy always went first for the most part. Also on Tuesday Steven went first after each performance. Lastnight he got speechless a couple of times and then the switch came. Thats what I noticed but I like Steve and hope he finds a cool confort zone. Got Em!!

Yea thats what I am sayin. Randy is actually judging his but off this season and giving more feedback. I also agree with u about making the song their own. And yes Pia killed it. I also like the guys better but the girls arent to far behind and again the talent this year is incredible. Got Em!!

Go back and watch some episodes from past seasons, I 100% guarantee you that they alternate who starts first. I don't remember Tuesday's order of judging, but they have done it for a while now (always?) where they move down the line who starts first. Steven might have just not gotten the memo on Tuesday

As for the criticism about them not making it their own...I've never really cared about that much. If they sing it and it sounds good, I'm good with it.
But I'm someone who doesn't really like when artists remix their own work and do it differently most of the time, so I feel the same way when someone else does it. Now, that's not ALWAYS the case, but often it is; maybe I'm just a person who gets set in my ways about stuff

One change up that I LOVE is the David Cook version of Billie Jean; that is fantastic, better than the original imo.

I thought I might get some, "WTF?!?!" about that comment

Almost anytime someone tries to sing Michael Jackson I say, "No, don't do it!" because it will almost ALWAYS sound worse no matter how good they are and make you just want to go and listen to the real version.

But David Cook's version is my preferred version of that particular song; much more toned down and more rock than pop because of the difference in their voices.

No big surprises in the top 10. Maybe a couple of mild ones like Kendra and Lauren (although, that's just based on last night's performances).

Also, either Dialidol is really off this year or they just rigged most of it...

Hahaha cmon Diesel Jovany was your favorite or one of them anyway. Now u tryin to disown him lol. Paul is 10 times better than Jovany by the way. I think him & Stefano were neck and neck so that couldve gone either way but Paul is great!

I picked all 5 guys right including my top two favorites in Jacob & Casey and I only got 3 out of the five girls right including my top two favorites in Lauren Alaina & Pia so I am happy.

As for the wildcards it was weird they made it a top 13. I think Kendra got a bad rap and shouldve made the top 10 let alone 13 so that was a bit of a disappointment as I thought she gave the best wildcard performance. I thought Robbie gave the best wildcard performance of the 3 guys but didnt care for him besides that so its fine he didnt make it.

Final four should easily be Jacob, Pia, Casey, & Lauren. Lets see how this goes. By the way Tyler was much better tonight and seemed more comfortable which was great. Got Em!!

Also on a sidenote Thia Megia is from my area and she is actually a friend of some friends we have. My girl is Filipino and a couple of her close friends actually know Thia very well. Got Em!!

Nah, he wasn't my favorite. Remember when I mentioned him I said I liked him and Julie but didn't know how far they'd go. Pia and Lauren are my Top 2. I would have kept Jovanny around for at least one more week to see what he did. Paul is....interesting. He's good enough to have made it but I wouldn't keep him around long unless he lays down a performance that makes me think higher of him.

Ok so we both have the same two favorites for the girls. Who are your favorites for the guys as Im sure we will differ there. The thing about Paul is he is very unique and brings sumthin different and that is always a plus for the show. he sounds like no one else on the show and his tone is great. I think he has a chance to go pretty far but not top four far. As for Pia I wish. If I was I wouldnt be replying to u right now I would be getting friendly with Pia as we speak lol. Got Em!!

Also based on the crowd noise and ovations I can already see that the fan favorite is Scotty McCreery so that will help him a lot. Lets get it crackin. Got Em!!

I think Stefano Langone is a dark horse this season. He reminds me of Lee Dewyze last year.

It will come down to song choices. One of my favorites in the top 24, Julie, really chose a bad song, Breakaway, that didn't suit her and didn't make the top 13. She was amazing during the auditions.

Lee Dewyze wasn't one of the front-runners last years and was a dark horse last year (by definition); read some articles on the web--

Stefano Langone reminds me of him, not in singing style, but as someone who doesn't have front-runner status but has the talent to catapult him to the top. His wild card song performance alone showed a different side of him I didn't see during the auditions.
