It's taken directly from the comics and the animated series.

It's apart of Batman lore.

How does Superman fly? Who cares. He does.

Because of the energy he absorbs from the Earth's yellow sun he's able to control his own gravimetric field in order to fly.

....

Ooooh.

Ooooh.

That's dumb. It's comic book science.

But...but...spoiler alert...it's only a movie.

Exactly. It's about as scientific as saying the Millennium Falcon can travel at lightspeed because it has a hyperdrive generator. One thing doesn't really explain the other.

I don't know how much more obvious I could have made it that I was kidding.

It generally takes one of those little "winking" smileys or a laughing one. Even that often won't dissuade those who just want to argue or tell the world how smart they are & how dumb someone else is.

I am watching this movie now and the Bane introduction scene is mind blowing! I don't know which I like more, this one or the bank heist in TDK!

I was watching this (Blu-ray) the other day on my 60 inch Gt50 when I noticed that during the Bane vs Batman fight on the stairs that there is a faint horizontal line going through the entire width of the screen near the top. At first I thought it was my tv but I tried a different disc and even a different player and tv and I was able to replicate the same thing. What could this be? Has anyone else noticed it?

Yeah, Nolan always gets things off the ground (pun intended) in mind-blowing fashion. I also love his openings in Prestige and Inception.

I thought that this movie was awesome when I saw it in theaters back in July, the battle between Batman and Bane was great. The DKR was a great send of to the a fantastic trilogy!

The bank heist/Heat homage is far better than the plane hijacking/Licence to Kill homage (I'm being generous here calling it a "homage"). In pretty much every conceivable way.

I liked it better than License to Kill! IMO its not a homage it surpasses it!

I don't know about that but it was indeed much louder/more over-the-top/harder to make out the dialogue than Licence to Kill's sequence.

The Prestige has the best opening of any Nolan film. Just a brilliant film in every way
