I think they might be updating the MA/Vudu streams right now, I cannot play it on either platform.
Itunes is still HD SDR 5.1 on my AppleTV. |

My itunes copy was jumping between HD/Atmos to DV/Atmos to HD only and the back to DV/Atmos.
Like I mentioned earlier, I don't feel much of a difference. However, it looks like itunes copy got a bit of grain. |

There is always a possibility JP 1-3 and JW could get a 4k DV reissue in a niche market like Spain or Italy. |

Thanks for your pictures, samuelkhan999, I just hope that no one here even thinks about analysing DNR and grain structure with pictures taken with a Phone. The most we can get from this is perhaps, emphasis on "perhaps", a very general idea about the colors, but nothing remotely precise.
And yes, I remember seeing people in The Exorcist 4K thread talking about DNR based on pictures from the TV taken with a phone... |

What are screenshots from peoples phones proving, with regards to a possible new transfer of Jurassic Park, and why are screenshots from VHS tapes suddenly important?

Hi. If you could share some comparison pics with magenta dialled down, would appreciate it.

If there is someone with an iPad pro and has access to JP iTunes 4k, they could share iPad screenshots. Ipad pro does support 4k playback. |

I wish someone would do that with the new 4K restoration of Sunset Boulevard. And yet, people still haven't given comments about the restoration, nevermind screenshots, and it's been weeks...

You can't make screenshots of iTunes 4K content on an iPad due to the DRM.

If it's anything like the full screen DVD (remember those days?), it'll be more openish matte for most shots and pan & scan for the VFX shots as they were only rendered and composited for the 1.85:1 frame. |

Just sampled a few spots of the iTunes 4K DV version of JP. I haven't compared it to the UHD yet, but it looks really nice, and the Atmos soundtrack is literally bone crushing.

Adding to the chorus of quick looks, I feel like I can definitely see a difference on JP and JPIII. The color grades in particular seem a *bit* warmer, really favoring golden browns and greens. That's assuming, of course, that it's not just the DV or me seeing things.
JPIII in particular actually looks pretty decent now and seems to drop that dim overcast look it had on the previous release. It actually took me back to when the film was new, when I was a kid and I experienced crushing disappointment in a movie theater for the first time. It's still the worst of the extant six (soon to be seven) films, but I'm glad to see it looking a bit healthier. TLW hasn't updated for me yet, but I'd imagine it'll turn out to be a downgrade since the others are looking better. Joking aside, I'm really excited to see if it also gets a warmer grade. When will Mike appear to rant that the magenta push in the old transfer is correct and that the new color grading has modernized the film with teal? He'll say that if he sees any teal in the movie. Or any yellow.

I decided to check it out myself on my projector and from an image perspective, I couldn't see any differences and from what others have already suggested, would have me agree its the same master. I'd give the Atmos track a slight lead over the DTS:X track though. I think an actual comparison would be needed to truly tell just how different the tracks are.
I did give the DV a spin on my TV and I could see a difference, but going from projector to television is already apple to oranges so... |

I wish that my digital copy would update to DV/DA already.
It remains HD SDR for now on my Apple TV, even though on itunes it shows as DV/DA. |
