I really hope Disney releases the original Fantasia separately as a Diamond series title. I don't want Fantasia 2000. The UK edition of the original looks great I hope we get the same here

Theres £1 difference over here between the Fantasia single release and the double pack, thats some serious dislike for Fantasia 2000 from anyone that just gets the original.

To be fair, I hate the combo-pack cover. Plus, Amazon states that the combo-pack only has 2 Discs, so I'd rather just get the single edition and have the DVD with that.

The 2 disc bit is a concern, but given that the pack says "Fantasia and Fantasia 2010" I doubt its the final cover. Hopefully...

As I understand Digital Bits, there's only the 2-disk DVD of both movies, and the 4-disk Blu+DVD of both movies--
If there's another edition of 2-disk Blu, I'll be glad to take a link, but looks like either way, you're stuck with 'em.

Extras wise perhaps, but the films themselves should look absolutely stunning.

Interestingly, on the website under Blu-ray specs, it only lists a 5.1 DEHT mix, not 7.1.

Well, now they have, and they don't have room for anything else.

...The problem with fans Wanting It All is that they don't GET it all.

Never in my life have I ever said I would "die happy" if Destino came to Blu-Ray. So no, I'm not "one of those people".

Never said anything about "wanting it all", either. I have the Anthology box set, which is one of the most feature-packed sets ever released by Disney. I think it is a disgrace how Disney is treating this release relative to what they've done previously on Blu-Ray. It sends a message, rightly or wrongly, that Fantasia is a lower-tier property compared to, say, Beauty and the Beast. It is very unfortunate, as I said previously, that of all the animated features, the first to get the Lilo and Stitch 1-disc treatment on Blu-Ray is Fantasia. I still can't believe it. Fantasia was one of the first films to be added to the National Film Registry, placed in the top 50's on the AFI poll, is the 21st or 22nd highest grossing film of all time, and Disney brings it to Blu-Ray with a commentary track, a promo for the Disney family museum, and an 8-minute look at the Schultheiss production scrapbook? Meanwhile Beauty and the Beast, Pinocchio, Sleeping Beauty and Snow White come to market loaded to the gills...people, if you need perspective, Chicken Little has more bonus content than Fantasia. Ruminate on that one for a minute or two.

A year ago, if someone had told me Disney would bring Fantasia to the Blu-Ray market and treat it (more or less) like one of their featureless DVD combo packs, I would have thought they were off their rocker.

Leaving off pretty much every every bit of the comprehensive extras that exist for the film.

Even if they turn up on BD-Live, it's still a pretty big disappointment for fans of Fantasia.

Or even Disney fans, who are used to really packed releases of the classic animated features.

Shockingly I agree with you. One of the greatest animated movies of all time deserves a higher standard.

It really does suck, as we all know that Disney is just holding back all the extras they have for the inevitable rerelease of this movie -_-

I kinda doubt that in this case. I don't think it has anything to do with a re-release. Just wanting to cut down on the number of discs.

Unlikely. Disney has their flaws, but double dipping is not one of them (unless you count titles being re-released 10 years later). This is not a case of getting us to buy it and buy it again next year, this is just a lack of commitment to the title.

I am extremely excited about this BR and have been anticipating it for a while as are many of you I love that Disney went with the two movie collection (the cover looks fantastic too).

The meat and potatoes are there with some very tasty sides too. It received the proper restoration it deserves, DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 (I'm just as excited about the AQ as I am about the PQ) and to top it off it is available at a great price. I am completely satisfied with its contents especially Destino and Disney & Dali. I understand many peoples disgust for the lack of tangible special features but if you are truly a die hard Fantasia/Disney fan you will still be able to access them via BR live (from what I've heard...fingers crossed) unless you live in a region where you are unable to connect...I'm sorry about that and hopefully they will resolve that issue soon This is far from a disgrace, if it had a horrid transfer and no special features I'd be with yall. Where is the love??? This thread has turned so depressing Fantasia/Fantasia is still going to be an amazing BR!!! Well thats my two bit and I'll now get off my

I can't wait for this visual and audible gem
