The 1 disc version does in fact have a digital copy according to this website.

I'm late to the party, is the below correct?

There are no store exclusive versions, content wise just by packaging?

You basically have 2 versions; 1 disc 2d and 2 disc 3d? Best buy has a steelbook and target has an exclusive slip by t they all have the same amount of content?

I had the same question... This site lists digital copy for 2D, but it seems like you don't have a definite answer on confirming whether or not the 2D comes with digital copy or not.

I'm sure that the 1 disc release does have a DC. It says so in the official announcement.

Wouldn't be the first time an announcement on here was wrong. The latest Riddick Collection was said to have Dark Fury in HD and it ended up being in SD yet again. You would think Disney would have put a banner on top saying Blu-ray + Digital HD Digital Copy if it had a Digital Copy.

I could be wrong and it could very well have it, but at this point I'd be surprised if it did.

A Walgreen's by my house had this out for sale already when I was there on Sunday. I would have picked it up but had already pre-ordered from DMC. Anyways, I did look at the case and didn't see anything mentioning a Digital Copy. I can stop by on my way home and see if they still have it so I can provide a definitive answer. Or, if anyone lives in the Trenton, Ohio area and wants it early, they may still have it.

So is Target done with preorders? http://www.target.com/p/thor-the-dar...#guest-reviews

Or was this always in store only? No preorder button available.

Maybe they ran out of the copies they allotted for pre-order.

Yep that's correct. Just the packaging for the exclusives. That's weird that this is getting exclusives but ironman 3 didnt.

I'm going to attempt to get one or the other in-store.

I'd really like to see what the blu-ray cover artwork is beneath the target-exclusive slipcover, whether it's the Loki image, or the standard 3D cover with thor. On Target's exclusive 3D version of the Avengers, there was a unique slipcover, with the standard 3D version artwork on the actual case. I prefer it like that because it offers a variety of images to behold. Either way, I'm getting the Target version, but it'd be cool to not completely miss out on the Thor lightning picture.
Double-dipping isn't something I'd be willing to consider for this release, particularly because I'll already almost certainly be double-dipping on all of Marvel's phase 2 movies when the box set comes out in a couple years.

Also, relating to Target not taking pre-orders online, I did pre-order mine a couple of weeks ago, so it's probably not an in-store only thing unless they intend to cancel my order. I suppose they must have just ran out of online stock.

The 3D release slipcover. The lightning striking down in the front artwork has a shiny effect, looks great!

Over 180 mins of extra, LMFAO, ridiculous, the commentary is considered a 2-hour extra now.

...Of course it is? I never understood the logic of packaging under-selling the commentary by saying "30 minutes of extras" when there's a film-length commentary track.

I cancelled my pre-order on Amazon because I didn't know about the Loki Target packaging! I hope it becomes available for pre-order online again! Or I'll be driving home next week just for a Blu-Ray lol.

Including commentaries in the total is nothing new... probably as old as the concept of extra features.

And it makes sense. I don't see what's humorous about studios doing that.
