Anyone else having quality control issues with their CE? Mine had two loose discs, as well as minor damage to their case

I've heard other people have had it much worse-- dirty/fingerprint-covered discs, scratched discs, chipped discs, printing errors in the booklet. Now I'm starting to worry about my UE...

Mine should have been delivered four days ago but is held up at a distribution center. Holiday woes.

It'll get here, I just hope it's safe in whatever parcel cart or truck it's sitting in.

Still pales in comparison to many Laserdisc box sets with regards to size (including the famous Eva Films set).

I did have 2 loose discs, but no smudgy printing on my booklet.

I just got my copy of the CE today and outside of a slight fingerprint smudge on one of the cases, it was basically in perfect condition so I don't think you'll need to worry about your UE order :thumbsup:

Mine came in today. No loose discs thankfully but there is some weird swelling on the outer box, like part of it is bubbling up. And it makes a crunchy sound when you press down on it. Thankfully it isn’t suuuuuper noticeable. I found a fingerprint and a few hairline scratches on a couple of discs too. I don’t think they’re any cause for concern but, yeah, definitely inspect your sets ya’ll.

Nearly all of my "classic dub" discs had marks on them. I checked all of them at 30 speed on my PS3 and I didn't notice any skipping, so I hope i'm fine. The movies disc for the "official dub" discs also was bad there, but again, no skipping. Also had loose hubs, had to do the DS stylus trick on a good number of them including the hub that's not on a flap as VIVA cases remain absolute junk. I pretty much expect to have to do it on any 3+ disc VIVA case these days thanks to their cost-cutting.

On another note, my booklet was affected by the printing issues. On a few pages, you can tell where it's blurier, and then there's this.

I wonder what company GKids went through to compile and fulfill their CE's and UE's... Whoever they were, they weren't very professional.

The UEs are likely all manufactured at the same factory plant in Europe. I wouldn't say the same for the CE due to amaray being differents

VIVA has a plant in Canada, while Amaray (ying-yang hub company) seems to be based in the UK as plenty of releases there use those cases.

Seems I was one of the lucky ones with the CE box, I only had one loose disc and all of the discs were spotless. The artbook didn't have any print issues, the white text is clear and I did not see any fading. I prefer the ADV dub over what netflix made and looking forward to giving this a watch tomorrow.

On the shelf. I'll probably have to make a special place for the UE box, maybe on the same bookcase with all of the berserk deluxe volumes.

Got that too before it sold out before pre order

. Still has that bend in the front that i did want want to send back so lagann and 2 columbia volumes on are top of it should fix that. But lagann has 2 hardcover booklets inside and outside hardcover with amazing artwork.
