I got a "spend $400 to get a $40" (by May 18th!) bonus. This just might be my limit for spending to get a bonus. So I started off by getting 3 movies and a 20-pack of AAA batteries (Firestick remotes REALLY suck up batteries!). Probably get 3 $100 iTunes gift cards to round out the $400.

A suit? A TV? A week's worth of groceries for a family? If you're in the market for something in that price range, $30 off is better than a sharp stick in the eye.

I've actually earned some bonuses with purchases that were mostly groceries and household goods. But they had to come with other special deals on these items like percentages off (earlier this year I had a 20% storewide discount that was supposed to be one-time use and they gave me three orders before it was cut off) or Target gift cards (such as a $15 GC for purchasing $50 of household items). On my biggest order I ordered $550 before discount, got discounts totaling $202 and also got $35 in Target GCs. I had nine separate discount deals including the 5% Circle discount and my birthday 5% discount. Target coupon stacking is wonderful (although I think lately they have cut down on what's allowed). But now I'm kind of ahead on nonperishable cleaning and paper products and Diet Dr Pepper (and some other stuff) has a long shelf life. Anyway, there are a lot fewer good deals and discounts lately and spending $280 to get $30 is simply not worth it for stuff without good discounts and of which I still have enough to last me awhile. So admittedly, part of this is because I don't need much of these items right now but also the Target deals are not very good at present. Much of it I can get as cheap or cheaper at Costco or Woodman's (our regional big supermarket chain), even if I get $30 off $280 at Target. |

Dune 2 blu-ray (not 4K) release in the corner, no Target exclusive.
New vinyl releases front and center. |

I assume that's why Target feels like vinyl has a chance for sales. An interesting question would be how many of those Swift vinyl sales customers actually have a turntable? Or just collectors/completists? If they have turntables, than there's a decent chance that vinyl would be a draw for those fans. |

Target’s gone strong in the vinyl and music game. Lots of Target exclusives, sometimes with multiple editions of a single title. |

I am not a collector then. I only buy things I intend to enjoy (watch, listen, etc.). Just to buy something just because it is a collectible and never enjoy what made it special? not my cup of tea. I do know collectors who do this - I just can't relate to them.
