You might have never heard it at your place, but we've listened to "Scenes from an Italian Restaurant" in 5.1 SACD at my place.

Basement Tapes seems an odd choice for sacd, but I will buy it. Any other new Dylans coming out?
Several other Dylans are also coming out by Mobile Fidelity, though several of them are the same albums that already had a SACD release. Yes, all these SACDs will eventually be available on Amazon for under $30.

The SHM-SACD's? Where did you hear that from? I've heard nothing but almost universal praise for them all being done from the original UK master tapes directly to DSD.

My copy of Ommadawn should be arriving soon.

The wife took the kid to visit the in-laws yesterday... so I got to put the Oasis disc through its paces.

First, I dicovered that my amp/speakers top off at about -10dB. Above that and the trebble gets really coarse and hurts the ears. Second, by removing the grills on my moddest speakers, I gain more headroom. Third, while the disc may not surpass the CD by much, where it does, it shines. Much happier with the disc now that I have played it at levels I probably shouldn't be playing it at. Next time I'm going to revisit Beck (I only took that up to -15dB previously) and see if I can go hirer with a cleaner disc.

I'm loving this new addiction

Real audiophiles listen to music in stereo anyway...

Curious! How much for the BD alone?

$45, more than I've paid for any BD but with the 5.1, 4.0 and stereo mix it was worth it to me. Listed as brand new, never played.

Not bad considering the price of the SACD and you get the quad mix as a bonus. Good shot! If the AQ is as good as the SACD you're in for a real treat.

I was wondering if anyone has the SACD version of Dire Strait's Brothers In Arms and what they think of it? I'm wanting to get a copy of it, and wanted to get some impressions on if it's worth a buy or not.

I have it and love it. Very nice 5.1 mix and very reasonably priced. If you like the music IMO it's a buy.

Ordered it from Amazon through blowitouttahere. Got it for $16.70 shipped, so I should be getting it soon.
