So I'm not really sure where to post this and it's not exactly the most informative of a source, but right now Doritos is having a promotion for The Hunger Games where the grand prize winner will receive several prizes including "one (1) Hunger Games 4-Disc Collector’s Edition Box Set." I'm not exactly sure of any details beyond yet but it does appear that there will be some kind of collectors edition for the films at some point. But this doesn't make a whole lot of sense right now considering it'll be at least another year and a half until all of the films are available on home video.

I think they're referring to the Best Buy Exclusive of the first movie, which has 2 BDs and 2 DVDs. Unfortunately, the movie disc in that version was badly manufactured and would not play past the layer change.

I have a hard time believing someone who both hasn't read the book and won't be doing the trilogy marathon in theatres is that impatient for the movie.
