I get so jealous reading about all of your awesome scores. The only pawn shops I have been to near me are a joke. They sell their opened, used blu's for more than I can get them new in some cases, and almost nothing at all there is a bargain. at best theyre the same as the local used cd/movie store.

I have one pawn shop near me the blu's are $4 each or $7 for Disney but ther is no selection but what can one expect when most of the people that live in my area do not even know what a Blu-ray is.

Guys. Our stores charge $5 normally but for me they do $2.50 - $4. They rarely have good stuff but do hold good stuff for me when they get any. It's all about how often you go and talk with them. When I started going to the shops, I used to be so jealous of wormraper because of his awesome finds. Well, going often is the trick. Then you get first dibs on the good stuff and for cheap.

And ansi12 - I live out in the country.

Today's pickups:

Warm bodies (mint with slip)
Broken City (mint with slip)
Safe Haven (mint with slip)
Gladiator/Troy double feature

Yesterday:

Battleship
Contraband
Hotel Transylvania
Thor (mint with slip)
Book of Eli (mint with slip)
Savages

Awesome score today. All with slipcovers too.

The Little Mermaid (NEW)
Titanic (NEW)
Twilight Breaking Dawn 1 & 2 Double Feature (includes UV code) (Walmart exclusive I believe).

I got all three for $1.50 each because the super old guy cashier thought they were dvd's!

Wow. I bet if I take all the shops together in my area, they do not do 100 customers in an hour. The inventory movement is very slow here on Blus but fast on DVDs. Good thing is since I know them now and go hang with them sometimes, they know what to keep for me.... For example, a few days back I walked into the store and started looking at the Blus. My buddy at the store comes up to me and hands me a Thor 3D Blu with slipcover in mint condition. 3 bucks. He had kept it aside for me.

Oh ... It was Thor Dark world not Thor 1. Still on the lookout for Thor 1 3D for you. One of the shops is going to have a $2 clearance sale again end of this month. Hopefully they will bring some out.

dang, that's an even better deal then. impressive find. It's been a while since I've seen a 3D title in my pawn shops since that legendary haul I had on them a few months back

nah, I got thor 2 on 3D already. the only marvel ones I'm missing are Thor 3D and Cap America 3D... those have evaded me for a long time (unless I want to shop at my local used entertainment store in town where they are selling them for the bargain price of $25 used)

That's funny that you mention both Thor 3D and Captain America 3D ... I remember when I found both of those at the same mom & pop store for $8 each used (w/slipcovers) on a single visit. That was a pretty darn good day.

Lucky you. I have found Thor 3D (no slipcover) but no Captain America 3D. Hopefully someday ........

On the previous page, I noticed that a couple of you were talking about Pawn Shops and how many people go to them.

I live in the metro Detroit area, and believe me, there are tons of pawn shops and thrift stores out here. I am about 25 minutes from the pawn shop featured on Hardcore Pawn on TruTV. I have been in there a couple times, and believe me, that place sucks. Their movie selection is barely anything at all. Its always crowded though and very ghetto. Mostly people pawning stuff off. One time I was there, and a camera crew was in the place along with a couple producers. I've never seen any of the characters there though (Seth, etc.)
