Yeah I understand what you are saying but:

1. The guy from Glee died due to Drug use. I dont know how they killed him on the show but the show was not about drug use
2. When someone dies in these Fast and Furious movies it is usually in a fiery car crash. Do they really wanna pull that kinda thing now that this tragedy happened?

Lucas Black became the new lead of Fast 7 as of Saturday afternoon.

I think the cast will be pretty beat up to know that he is dead. I wouldn't be surprised if filming was on hold for awhile because of this. Really sucks because I really liked Paul Walker and Loved FF and Running Scared.

He doesn't have to pass away in a fiery car crash in the film. They can have the lead villain shoot him or something like that.

As others have stated this really puts a black cloud over the Fast and Furious franchise.Paul Walker and Vin Diesel were the two leads and heart and souls of the series.
It'd make sense for Lucas Black to pick up with Vin Diesel if they want to keep going with the series. The last couple of FF take place before Tokyo Drift, anyway.

If anything Universal will most likely suspend production for a few weeks outta respect to Walker's family, not to mention the cast will be extremely hurt by this news. The movie may be delayed from next summer's slate or obviously it will due huge business much like Dark Knight did when Heath Ledger passed suddenly. I can almost be certain Fast 7 will get dedicated to him as this franchise he helped build. Even if they continue with parts 8-10, his talent will be missed and we have some great cult films he made.

Joy Ride
The Skulls
Running Scared

RIP Paul

How are they going to kill his character off if you can't actually kill his character off on screen? Are they just gonna have a scene where Dom starts crying cause he's dead?

I guess if he was in a car you couldn't tell if it was a stuntman. But that might be insulting to the event of his death. I'm gonna make a bet and say we won't see 7 until at least 2018.

Depending on how much of the film is complete, they can do it a few ways. The best way is to leave the film as is and just have a dedication in memory of Paul Walker at the end of the film. If they go with Fast 8 they don't even have to write in the script about his character's death. The fans of the series alreay know about his fate.

Now if the film is incomplete, that's where it becomes more tricky

What would you rather have them do though. I know it might sound cliche, but I'm sure Walker would want them to continue on making the movie. And there is no bigger way to honor him then by giving him a big death and funeral scene in the movie. It would probably bring a lot of the audience to tears, and while that might sound like banking off it, I still think that is the best in memoriam you could give him. Along with the first thing to come up before going to credits would be to say "In memory of Paul Walker".

If they do a video montage at the end I will have a mental breakdown.

This really is just such a huge event. As much as Heath Ledgers Death affected Dark KNight and plans for him to come back in the sequel to that it is much more substantial than even that sad passing.
I cannot even think of something else like this even happening before .

Just the scope and plans for these films and the story (and film is forever as someone smarter than me once said) are now ripped apart.
I feel kinda bad just thinking about the movie so soon but I cant help it.
I love Fast 5 and 6 so much .

And the way he went ties into these films in such a morbid way I cannot help but already feel how it will be to see the 6th film in which he is no doubt evading obstacles going 100 mph , etc.

Its just too much to bear.

Its like if Johnny Depp died in real life by getting stabbed by a pirate.

Oliver Reed passed away during the filming of Gladiator over 14 years ago, and they had the technology back then to digitally take his face and "work with it". I suspect with the proper lighting, some digital technology, and certain camera angles...they can make just about anyone look like Paul Walker for the 5-10 seconds they'll need on screen.

We don't know how far into shooting they are, but i suspect they were probably close to finished (didn't they start back in September?). The problem may be that films don't necessarily shoot chronologically. So they may have to do some rewrites and clever editing if he wasn't done with his scenes and some stuff earlier in the movie had yet to be filmed.

That's the way I would go.They should also donate some of the profit to his family and whatever charities he was apart of.Again any way the studio and film makers go theirs going to be a lot of unhappy people.

I honestly think they will probably postpone this movie until 2015 and say his character died off-screen. Many weeks of reshoots. Maybe have Lucas Black's character come in his place storywise.

That's very interesting. I had no idea that happened. It's still going to be tricky for him to die in the film without reciting any dialogue.

I had no clue they even started shooting yet so it won't be a complete catastrophe.

I don't see it going to 2015. At most it will be released end of 2014.

Fast & Furious 6 blu sales will shoot to the top of Amazon's charts. Plus some of his other films.

Brandon Lee got accidentally killed while shooting the Crow and they used his stand in and digitally put in his face. Fast 7 will get completed, the cast will most likely agree to finish in his honor. None of the cast has made any public statements yet via their twitter accts. I feel for his daughter though. As I am a 41 yr old father of five girls. So sad to go so young.

I don't think comments about how they can handle Fast 7 are out of line. It's merely speculation on how this will be handled once the proper time has passed from this tragedy. It's not like this has never happened before in the history of cinema, and there is precedent.

Life happens. It's unfortunate that death is a natural part of life, and someone was taken before their time. The most odd part of this was that his death was actually hoaxed recently. That part of this whole development is really weird/creepy if you ask me.

I think Lucas Black will step in opposite Vin Diesel. But, while I don't expect Universal to postpone the new film too much, I think there will be a delay, just out of respect. I also expect that there will be a memorial for Paul Walker before the credits begin the movie.
