going back a bit, but I think when people criticize Bling Ring and wonder why Emma would do a project like that, they completely forget that it was a Sofia Coppola movie.

Scarlett Johansson and Kirsten Dunst both catapulted their careers forward by staring in Sofia Coppola films.

I personally think that The Bling Ring is an excellent film, and one of Emma's best roles to date.

I wasn't a big fan of the film, but Emma gave a great performance that certainly showcased her versatility. There wasn't a trace of Hermione (or Emma) in that character, and I dare say it did her nothing but good in that regard!

If the film didn't do well, or didn't work (and that's subjective anyway), the responsibility for that would fall on the writer/director...

I went to TFF last year and she was there, but I had no idea until afterwards.. And I went to a different movie premiere than the one she was at.
