I wonder if the new print is cleaner or such. Either way, I'll buy it to support AGFA and Something Weird. They're good peeps.

For my most recent order with Sinister Cinema, I was given the option of having the discs burned without the labels, which I chose.

That's the only reason I bought their new disc of Jungle Trap/Run Coyote Run. I knew what total pieces of crap Frozen Scream and Lady Street Fighter were. That Hell Riders was complete exploitation garbage. And yet, here I am, currently watching my just purchased disc of Run Coyote Run.

What am I doing with my life?

I actually thought Lady Street Fighter wasn't that bad, not great, but not bad. A lot of AGFA's releases (the movies themselves) are garbage but oddly collectable. Gotta collect them all.

AGFA Director Joe Ziemba announced on the AGFADROME livestream fundraiser that they'll be doing another Smut Without Smut release in partnership with Vinegar Syndrome, and that it will be along similar lines to the All Night at the Bizarre Art release.

I don't really know what that will wind up looking like, but I'll likely get it.

If you've seen the Bizarre Art set, they did "smut-less" versions of the Bigfoot short and Mania during the AGFA livestream last night.

For anyone interested, the livestream was a blast and well worth the $25 donation for entry. I hope they do something like this again in the future.

There were three upcoming titles announced during the AGFADROME event:

The Leather Boys in June
Treasure of the Ninja in July (with more films by William Lee as extra features)
An unspecified "Smut Without Smut" disc in November

In a tweet promoting a restoration of Doris Wishman’s Bad Girls Go to Hell on the Criterion Channel, AGFA hinted at more than one Doris Wishman boxset coming in 2022:

Quote:
ICYMI last week, AGFA + @swvonline -- in association with Jimmy Maslon -- will release box sets celebrating the films of the incomparable Doris Wishman in 2022.

I saw this listing on Amazon Canada. Just out of curiosity, was this planned and cancelled or licensed to VS instead?

I see it here also;

It was canceled after vinegar syndrome announced their release. It's a weird situation since they seem to have a close relationship and surly would have known that the other was working on a release.

I guess that means these movies are public domain?

IIRC, the print that AGFA was working with was a cut version of the film and when VinSyn located the uncut film and wanted to release it, AGFA canceled their planned release. I might be misremembering, in case anyone has more / different details.

Fleshpot was produced by the Mishkins, so I assume it's with films around the world like a lot of milligan films.

I have an unexpected question. Does anyone technically have the rights to the Bat Puss character itself (considering what it's from), not talking about the actual "movie". Just the character within the movie? Could the character be used in something else, even using soundbites from the actual Bat Puss for something that will be sold commercially?

It's public domain. No one even knows who created it. The logo was created by AGFA, I assume (since it doesn't appear in the movie), but no one has trademarked the name itself.
