Great review Geoff. It looks absolutely fantastic if you ask me!

Hmm, very interesting. Nolans aside, Warner Bros have been good at keeping processing to a minimum so it pains me a little to read this. Though Beetlejuice remained untouched so let's hope this is a one-off and not a new direction.

Tempted to cancel half my amazon pre-order (keeping Beetlejuice) and wait for a sale. Not because it doesn't sound like a worthwhile upgrade, but more because I don't want to encourage this type of f***ery by paying full price.

Thanks for the review Geoff. If it looks like Inception, I'll be fine, if it's the same "right side of" like Gump or Iron Man, I'm slightly worried now. Any thoughts? Mine shipped already anyway, but I could use some encouraging words.

The frozen grain during the bank heist in the opening of TDK was incredibly distracting and just knocked me out of the film. It sounds like overall this is an upgrade, though. At least we have Pitch Black and Beetlejuice that shouldn't disappoint. It's a shame, I've been holding off watching this for the thousandth time so I can be wow'd by a nice, grainy detailed 4K masterpiece. Oh well.

Sad to hear about frozen grain. Just annoying WB would do that.

Does the film open with the original WB studio logo?

Makes me wish I had the capability to rip PCM stereo track from a laserdisc.

I don't judge by merely looking at screenshots, but what I do see looks like a noticeable improvement to me. I can't wait to get my hands on this -- I sold my BD long ago when this was rumored, so I can't wait to see it again. Plus I get to introduce it to my husband who's never seen it.

Nice review. I am seeing more and more of this where you just have to begrudgingly say to yourself it could be whole lot worse.

Funny looking at your screenshots, the bottom of your TV looks like mine where you have case laying out etc. I have about 4 players because I am too lazy to change regions...etc.

Love my Z9D!

Sad to hear it was nolanized. If it's like Inception 4K, I might get it. I'm generally pleased with it, especially in comparison to other nolansies 4K that aren't Dunkirk.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one with the fault which means they'll replace the discs (hopefully). I've had similar problems before but usually rewinding it and playing it again and it works

It's annoying though. I've got the steelbook ordered from Zavvi but that hasn't come yet so I can't ascertain if the fault is on that as well

I wonder if it’s a player brand problem as Geoffs review said his U.K. version played fine on a Panasonic?

I've got a Panasonic UB450 (I haven't updated my signature for a while)

I don't have another 4K player as I would normally try a disc in another player
