Same reason some people prefer the severin "grindhouse" transfer of the changeling more than the cleaned up one.

It's an alternative nostalgic presentation that preserves the grimy feel of the time . Might not be a replacement for a pristine transfer but could be a fun supplement.

Really shady business practices by Dark Force. They ain't interested in collectors, just money and they don't give a damn about quality either. People on here will eventually stop supporting them but they'll still be fine selling to ebay scalpers...

Scalpers only want certain titles, which is what makes their "logic" so flawed. **** over the people who would buy almost all your titles for a few scumbags that want the high demand stuff that would sell anyway.

Maybe mailing would be less time-consuming if they invested in a postal label-printing setup instead of handwriting hundreds/thousands of packages!

Yeah I totally get this. The same can also be said for Blue Underground's recent superb 4K remaster for The New York Ripper. It's a somewhat divisive transfer. I, along with others, love it but other long time fans of the film have some issues with how great it looks and prefer a more grimy look ultimately preferring BU's first blu ray release for The New York Ripper.

Default Just business

Well, I waited all week for the Dark Force Store to be open, but since that never happened I spent my money at Ronin, which is actually open 24/7 to take my order and my money.

I wonder how many times this happens to Code Red. With all these lost sales, Code Red could afford more double feature titles.

Dark Force would make more money selling to real customers instead of catering to scalpers. A real customer might buy another title (like Chaos) to add to their order while they are shopping but scalpers are never going to buy anything that is not limited or perceived as becoming "rare".

I bet there weren't many scalpers buying The Carrier, either, despite the carnival tactics of trying to make it appear to be rare in the future.

Plus, this leaking of titles early on eBay at inflated prices is completely unsavory. These sellers are nothing but shill accounts for Dark Force and Bill.

No other label treats their potential and actual customers so poorly.

I got my DF triple bundle with Dead Pit today. First of all, kudos to DF for super fast shipping and all 3 releases were well packaged. And......as much as it pains me to say this, the Dead Pit slipcover is pretty cool. It is not of VS thickness, but the glow in the dark figure is pretty sweet. As for the transfer, I will not get to it for a while, so no comment on that. The release is Code Red #179 on the cover if it needs to be added to the database.

This californiakid scumbag in eBay just keeps popping them out, I was watching his listings , he sells one or two and his listi g continues to state there are 3 available.

I think that's the same guy that Jared at Mondo called out for putting the red cases up as " sold out OOP" when they were still available for sale.

It’s one thing for a seller to inflate prices. If someone pays it, well...that’s another story. At least they’re not outright lying. When I see a listing for something like VS’s LUST IN THE DUST for $50+ and labeled “very rare” and “OOP,” my stomach churns.

At the end of the day everyone has to remember it's a real business."

This is such a bad business model.

First off, the Dead Pit release is very niche. So you're not gonna sell thousands and thousands of units. DF knows it and every customer knows it.

If they put a buy limit on this release, positive things are gonna happen. Let's say (let's get crazy)they put a 1 copy limit buy.(enforced by email/shipping addresses) Customers that really want the film(with slip) are almost certain to get their hands on a copy and at the intended price set buy DF. Better than tons of copies sitting in some scalpers closet for years never getting into a true fan's hands. Newsflash, regardless of how bad people want the film, several will never kneel to ebay/scalpers. They would just do without, rather than feed that crooked enterprise.

Second. It drives traffic ... wait for it ... to the Dark Force store. While there, they may even buy other films in the store. Imagine that. At the very least, after buying Dead Pit(or insert any limited release here) the chance of being a repeat customers goes up too. This is called building a solid customer base. When dealing with some scalper, they will never venture to the DF store. It's irrelevant, and not needed.

It's 1000 copies. Wouldn't (as the company that released this title) want 1000 individual customers? 1000 customers flowing/browsing through your store and not somewhere else?
Hello Winter Box this is Tom the General Manager of Dark Force Entertainment. You have brought up some very good points which I have gone over with the Demon in depth. We do want to point out that contrary to popular belief, out of the hundreds of orders we received on the 4th of July for Dead Pit Collector's Edition and associated bundles only a very small percentage were over 2 copies at once. In fact the ones that were bigger were only about 10 to 15 copies. By far the overall percentage of sales were singles, singles of the bundles and 2 copies of Dead Pit which obviously was fans wanting to get two. Nonetheless your points are well taken and I may be able to get the Demon to invoke a sales limit when the store reopens with some of the last of the precious inventory. By the way the Demon was also curious by your avatar if you were a girl.

Best, Tom, General Manager Dark Force

Only complaints I have are that the main title text is not embossed and the case is not clear, just a standard Blu case.

Christophah the Demon wanted to personally thank you for your feedback and these great pics of the Dead Pit slipcover.
