The Canadian edition, however, has the correct title and dialogue. (And bilingual English/French packaging and no Spanish or Portuguese audio tracks, but I'm willing to accept those changes for the sake of correctness in the film itself.)

I figured it'd be right before the holiday season; it makes sense from a financial perspective and it's right around the release of Deathly Hallows Part 1.

If you want "Philosopher" just do what I did-import from Canada.

Anyway, Amazon germany says the 3rd and 4th will be released Nov. 25th.

And they're not ridiculously expensive. Most of us hardcore fans expected much more for a retail price.

And while these arent as big on features as the LOTR EE, it's essentially the same with these-only with the theatrical cuts too. I like the possible extensions for future releases because those movies will have room to breathe, if done right. The pip tracks are nice, if not enough. Certainly the galleries add something of value. The documentaries are great! They really cover all the bases, from all the movies. CoS has screen-tests which are nice. All previous DVD features are preserved in the sets, and while that might be tedious and boring, at least it means no good stuff is lost.

Plus, i bought these with my Christmas money.

$33.49 for the ultimate extended version/collectable edition in Blu-ray?
Allow me to disagree...

has anything been announced as far as a box set of the ultimate editions? I want to pick these up, but would wait to replace my dvds of the first 5 all at once.

Probably not until The Deathly Hallows (Part I and II) is released. That's what I'm waiting for before double dipping.

Is there any official proof that POA and GOF aren't going to be extended for the ultimate editions? I've heard rumors and assumptions, but most seem to point that the digital copy will be theatrical version (like SS and COS) but no one seems to know if the actual blu-ray will be extended. Hopefully they will be.

Digital Bits confirmed they won't be extended cuts.

does anybody else wish they'd just release just a normal edition of these without the books and stuff? like in the 'beauty shot', the third from left on top, could've just released that with the new disc.. maybe be cheaper.. would also not be so huge, if i had them i'd only put the small thing on my shelf anyway

They already have released regular versions of these on Blu-Ray.

If you don't want the Ultimate Editions, there are the much cheaper previous versions.

I love all the extra stuff they put in the package with the release. It really makes it something special.
