**** yes! Couldn't agree more. I hated the aesthetic of Scream 4 and it almost ruined the movie for me because it's so out of place with the look the other three movies had.

I like it but Scream 4 would be so much better if it was shot like the first 3 and they cut out that goofy hospital ending. Their original plan to have it end with Jill getting carried out on the stretcher would have been a great cliffhanger and took the series in a new, interesting direction.

Does anyone else think that perhaps Courtney and Neve have already signed on and have been signed for awhile now? Neve gave an interview and said she was “in talks” but if she had already signed the studio would want to announce it in a big press release so she would not be allowed to confirm that she was signed anyway.

I have a gut feeling Neve, David and Courtney all signed on to the film around the same time but the studio wants to announce them all separately to drum up hype for the film. Think about it, they announce David first, the news goes trending, everyone is talking about Scream 5. A week or so later they announce Courtney - same scenario - it’s the news of the week and it’s trending - and then finally they announce the big one - Neve - and the internet starts losing its mind with excitement.

They have now effectively built up some early hype for the film, people are talking about Scream 5, and they have the exact focus on the upcoming film that they need in order for it to build to a successful opening.

I can't wait for them to announce that Selena Gomez and Zendaya will be in it.

Neve hasn't been signed yet, the news would break as soon as it happens. She probably has special demands that they haven't agreed to yet.

Might not be money. A lot of high profile actors have certain demands, like what they need on set, what they want their character to be like or do in the script...etc. she might want a say in what the movie will be like.

It could also be just as simple as she is ot going to sign until they get everyone else on board. (Arquette and Cox).

Yes, but my point is it could be more than just money. For all we know the money isn't an issue it could be other demands, or a combination of both. Who knows?

Neve hogged 1/4 of the budget for Scream 4 and I would think she'd be asking for more this time around. But I doubt that's the hold up - she's probably waiting for the finalized script and seeing if Courtney is signing on as well.

Doubt it’d be a finalised script stuff like that can always change it happened with 4 after she signed on rewrites and reshoots it’s most likely money if she didn’t like the script or general direction she wouldn’t have even put it out there that there’s been talks

She obviously likes the script by her putting it out there that there’s conversations with her if the studio don’t give her the pay check she wants she’ll walk away then the studio looks like the bad guys and fans are disappointed Not a good first look for your franchise reboot


This is the tricky thing about this budget there’s no way in hell they should spend 40million making this movie after 4 underperformed 10-15mill seems about right

Arquette is probably what 1million grand easy fast sign done

Cox probably has What a 5million fee if she does I’d say tell her to F-off it’s hard to buy into her now as a normal character she’s too Hollywood looking with fake surgery

Campbell I haven’t a clue she got 3 mill for scream 3 so I’d imagine she’s holding out for much more here

The good thing about Jamie Lees return in Halloween18 is she’s looks like a average 60year woman no obvious puffy lips,Botox cheeks ,forehead lifts could you imagine her trying to sell us on Lauries trauma 40 years looking like a barbie gone wrong.

I am positive all three will be back,but if the price is indeed to high you could always just role with David Arquette as the only returning character.Its a decade later after the last movie and he and Gale could be split up just like in real life and be out of town and Sidney again could also be away and in hiding.Not saying it would be the best to go without the big three but if its going to be more along the lines of a reboot like the Jurassic World/Star Wars films you don't need all of the legacy characters in the same film taking up all of the spotlight.

Scream 5 again could be set in Woodsboro with a new killer and whole new cast baring David Arquette/Dewey as the tie to the original series as he's the sheriff of the town and looking into the new murders.

And if they don't then they would most likely have to rewrite the entire script, as i imagine it's going to still be centered around the original 3, and that's just not something they want to do, especially since the rumors of them returning has already got the fans hyped. They have no choice but to deliver and cave into whatever those 2 are asking for.

Well then if that’s the case the rest of the movie will be done as cheaply as possible if they wanna stay in that 10-15mill range about 80% of the budget is gonna be spent on those 3 actors

S4 was 40mill most of that probably went to craven,Williamson, Campbell, cox,Arquette was probably done for 15mill on the actual movie that was all well and good in the time when it was safe to think a new scream would pull in 200mill max worldwide but that’s not guaranteed anymore it’s a risky game with the franchise right now atm

Well if Blumhouse can make successful cheap horror movies regularly (for example, The Invisible Man only cost $7 mil and it looked fantastic) then Spyglass can do that with Scream 5. Sure, the main trio will cost some money, but the good thing is the directors are still fairly new to the scene so they are probably fairly cheap. They can round out the rest of the cast with mostly unknowns (no need for every character to be played by a recognizable name) and they can keep production costs low. Also, there won’t be any expensive CGI or location shoots in foreign countries - they can definitely pull this off and if it’s successful (much like Halloween ‘18) then we will definitely be getting more sequels. I feel like the audience in 2011 wasn’t ready for a new Scream nor did they want it - I feel like the audiences today are really looking back to the popular franchises and want to see more of them again.
