This Dolby Vision stuff is only going to get more nauseating when people who have lower-spec TVs get the Dolby Vision update and start saying what a massive improvement it is, assuming everyone "stuck with" HDR 10 is seeing what they used to see. We aren't, because our TVs meet HDR 10 spec. Now YOU are seeing what we ALREADY saw. Yet that fact will be drowned out by the Dolby Vision hallelujah.

5/5 for 4K video.
Don't let that geek "TheSweetieMan" see this review. He's going to be cutting more than an emo kid during a depressive episode. |

Wow that's a glowing review. Unlike most movies on UHD BD, the increased resolution is the main upgrade here (along with the more accurate colors), rather than the HDR. That will be the norm I believe on most pre-DI catalogs that come from a good source.

Apparently not. That would mean separately scanning the trailer (which the elements wouldn't be in great shape anyway) so why would they honestly spend the money to do that?

I think as others have said it depends on both the movie and display as to how big of a difference DV vs HDR 10 is. On this movie its not going to be as big of a difference. On Pan which was the example used at hdtvtest a bit more. On Pacific Rim, Oblivion or Suicide Squad, even more so. |
