Think ur colurs are way off aswell?
Smartphone doesn't take good low-light shots but the display does look good in reality.

Although the P-Series gets considerably de-saturated and less contrasty when not viewed dead-center, and that's only exacerbated here.

As do most LCDs especially those with VA panels, which is why I mentioned the off-axis thing w/ref to my photo...

The ZD9 does look gorgeous. Too bad they don't make a 55" version, as that's the max size that will fit in my family room due to built-in shelves. Plus, that 65" is 3x the price I paid for my LG C6 . If I were a rich man, the 100" ZD9 would go great in my basement home theater (although at that price, I'd probably just opt for Sony's LSPX-W1S 4K Ultra Short Throw Projector ).

Yeah you notice it in the right side of this shot, the only other shot closest to "low-light" I can find in my google photos.

Certainly not bad though, and those black bars are again very black.

Double dare someone to discuss the fifth element, this isn't a hardware thread.

I'm okay with the sharpening; the 90's were a ...darker time.

Speed Racer is indeed an eye candy. I don't 'love' the movie, but the visuals make up for its shortcomings, I'd buy it on uhd

Not to interrupt the conversation, but is the UHD an upgrade over the last "Mastered in 4K" release a while back?

Yes, if you read the review here. Its was exceptionally clean PQ for a 1997 film. The dive into the cab looked very nice!

I ordered it earlier today. Think I have every version of this film. The last 4k Remaster was quite nice however.

Only one I skipped was the BD mastered in 4K so close to same but I had the original VRS tape sometime back.

Surely the horrible light bleed in your pics is more distracting, eh? Also you don't want a colored bias light like that anyway. You want one that's soft white at 6500k. I'd say it's damn near required for an LCD with HDR unless you can get the highest of high cost ones.

You've been drooling over that Sony short throw PJ too?
