WBshop.com has it [Prince Movie Collection] listed as SOLD OUT but I don't know if that means OUT OF PRINT or OUT OF STOCK. I've asked WB to clarify that status a few times but I've never received an answer.

There's a chance Warner might reissue the Prince BDs in the Archive collection like they did with Papilon and some others.

I've been following this thread for awhile now and never see anyone say anything about TV shows on Blu that are out of print. Is there a separate topic for that?

Many are listed in the beginning of this thread, in fact the first title listed is a Season 2.

The transfer of Purple Rain in the three picture set still in stock at B&N is different than the transfer on the standalone version so that makes it somewhat more likely the three picture set might be out of print for real at this point or if they make a new one they might swap in the new disc version instead.

There are two standalone releases for Purple Rain.

The original 2007 release:

haven't gotten to compare them side by side yet, only just got the new set in and only taken a quick glimpse and have to dig up the standalone, but I can tell it's different already just from that

EDIT: capsaholic has some frames from each, yeah rather different grading and color at times to say the least

EDIT: looking over the caps the set (and 2016 standalone) do look better overall than the standalone (2007) and more like what I think they showed in the theatrical re-release (which was probably around 2016) although a few things look interesting in their own right in the 2007 so a total completionist might want both, although if you get just one yeah looks like the 3 movie set/20106 standalone are the ones to get

The Odd Couple was back in print in 2020 but sold out again. So it's a good score.

oh so they do have the one from the set as standalone too then, for some reason I thought it was only the, apparently 2007, standalone and the three movie set

in some ways I guess it's then the 2007 one that might eventually go out of print, the three movie set might too, if not already, but it seems like the new version in that for Purple Rain I guess will probably stay in print as the 2016 standalone

Anyone know if this might be available anywhere? I had been planning to order it from SS's website but was waiting for Walkabout to come back in stock.

Well that really sucks. I was waiting to place an order later and picked up Revenge from Diabolik as it came back into stock. I contemplated getting both Revenge and Upgrade from Second Sight a few days to a week ago but passed because of how expensive UK shipping is now. Shoot. Guess I missed it.

I'm guessing that the two Prince-directed ones were a little too niche (one way of putting it

) to keep the set in-print.

A twofer with Sign O' the Times might've sold better (dunno who owns the US rights for that).

Oh that sucks I didn't know it was a burned MOD BD-R. I may have to opt for MOD though because I have not got this one yet but have the DVD.
