He does indicate towards the end that the Atmos and overall picture quality are an improvement (though perhaps marginally) over the previous UHD, but I guess it will come down to personal preference with the audio.

Regarding the Cinema DTS track that has been discussed in this thread, we can't assume that those theatrical DTS CDs were decoded and mixed properly. The LFE and Surround levels are handled differently than your standard home video 5.1 mix. More info here:
https://forum.fanres.com/thread-4161.html My mix of choice is the corrected DTS DVD, at least until I can get my hands on the DTS laserdisc track. It syncs up perfectly to this new UHD with a -250 delay. |

Reportedly, both the Atmos and DTS:X tracks are remixes with new audio. That's a deal-breaker for me.

Things are moved around to the new audio channels (surround backs & heights) so previously "hidden" sounds are no longer muffled or buried under other sounds in the mix - but if you listen through studio quality headphones you will hear those sounds in the original mixes as well. Much ado about nothing. |
