I just watched JP (in HDR only for now) and it’s certainly an improvement for me! The scenes without opticals or CGI look absolutely stunning to me, sharp and with a good portion of healthy grain. They did indeed pushed DNR back - if not removed it altogether! I am not too picky about the color, but it looked very good to my eyes. At least, less magenta than the previous UHD. All in all, if you thought the previous UHD wasn’t as bad as some people make it to be, you will certainly be very pleased with the upgrade. Of course, scenes with opticals and CGI is another story, but in general, as someone already said it, it was pretty smooth sailing. And I guess FEL DV should make the experience even better?

Just finished watching JP, which is my favorite film of all time. As someone who has seen the original 4k UHD release countless times and always found it pretty disappointing to dull and lifeless to bad, I'm pleased to say this one seems like a fairly significant improvement over that one. Genuinely super impressed with some of the newfound detail and clarity of textures, and of course the Dolby Vision is great.

Could it look better? Sure. But it's quite impressive to my eye and I'm super glad I got this set.

Does anyone know if the digital copies of the JP trilogy Steelbook upgrades your previous JP digital copies to both Dolby Vision and Atmos? I have the previous digital copies that came with the 5 movie 4K set and most of the audio is Dolby digital. Asking because I might want to give away the new codes that came with the Steelbook . Thx in advance

I'm not talking about cell phone ads, I'm saying it aesthetically looks and feels like a cell phone commercial. If you can't tell the aesthetic execution of these movies apart from one another I don't know what to tell you. It's hideous and looks like a Verizon commercial, the others do not.

JP & JPIII already updated to the new specs. LW & JW can't be far behind.

It's not sarcasm, that's what it genuinely looks like to me. The way the movie is directed, shot, setup, blocked, lit, the sets, it's so unserious it looks like a hyper plastic TV ad used to sell cell phones, in this case a Verizon commercial. I don't think I've ever seen a cell phone commercial with that much dangerous orange lighting, and with characters facing monitors in a dark room. Could you please explain yourself?
