The problem with Scream 4, and why we never saw the Scream 5 and Scream 6 Wes and Kevin had planned, was because the budget was so high it had a difficult time turning a profit. If Blumhouse did it they would have kept the budget low enough to guarantee success. That's ultimately good for the franchise.

They do a better job with their bigger movies though. They would have made sure Scream was well protected I think. Also, Ryan Turek is their VP of Development or something and he's a massive Scream fan, even made a documentary about it, so I think he'd make sure it wasn't a piece of shit at least.

![]() ![]() There are (now locked) videos on Vimeo of "Parkside Alpha" auditions. It's happening!!! I just wish they went with more well known actors. Vimeo auditions is a bit amateur. That's how the TV show was cast if I remember. |

Disney hasn't owned Scream for years now. They sold Miramax in 2010 (hence why Scream 1-3 got Blu-rays from Lionsgate), Scream 4 was handled by The Weinstein Company (as Bob & Harvey took Dimension Films with them once they left Miramax in 2005).

If Sidney is really coming back, then make it all about Sidney. Otherwise, what's the point? Mise well be a reboot. |

From what we know so far, I'm going to guess the main protagonist currently lives in Woodsboro but goes back to her "hometown" to investigate a series of murders. The killer is probably someone following her from Woodsboro and knows the legend of Ghostface in that town. She might seek out Sideny and the gang for help. |

One other possibility (as much as I dont like the idea) would be that this will be a Wes Craven's New Nightmare type of sequel where The killer is going around a random town and committing murders based on the movies and the original cast are are playing their real life selves. This could also be a clever way of bringing Stu back. Since he would still be alive as Mathew Lillard, he could turn out to be the real killer (or one of them). |
