Ugh. My closest theater isn't offering a single 2D screening this weekend, and the next closest theater is only offering a 2D screening for tonight only. Don't think I can make it for that "one night only" opportunity.

So no early showings tonight at my theater not even in 2d. But yet my theater as early shows for girls trip. Smh.

The blu-ray review pretty much said this was lame. With so many sci-films ending up being busts, Im not surprised. The cast is weak which right off the bat gets things going in the wrong direction. Looks glitzy and "cool" but as usual with these films its weak on story, characters, and plot. Oh well. I never had much faith in Beeson - hes kind of a sham.

The same reviewer also gave Despicable Me 3 a score rating of "8"
Logan a score rating of "7"
Dunkirk a score rating of "7"

DM3 was crap so I wouldn't put much worth or any on this sites reviewers.
There's no way DM3 is better than those two movies listed. I can go on and on with these guys review scores , but that gives you a very good idea.

It's not playing in the famed Grauman's auditorium in which that photo was taken. There are regular auditoriums that they built around it, but it's not playing in the capital "G" Grauman's Chinese Theater.

I saw a trailer for this, it looked really damn good.
Until today, I had no idea it was Luc's film.
I was watching Fifth Element (4k/UHD) last night and it looked great! And I love that movie and was wondering why he never made another Sci-Fi film.
Then today, searching for this thread, but only under the movie title, I saw it was his. I'm even more excited for this movie!

I just hope it actually is good.
Most everything I've seen this year has been a let-down

La Femme Nikita is a fantastic film along with The Big Blue. I highly recommend you check them out if you haven't seen them. He also did a movie called The Lady which was also really good a few years back.

Rihanna the best thing about this movie..

She also actually uses the phrase weak sauce , she must have been a English major with a background in movie review writing.

Hating on Luc Besson is the cool thing to do because Lucy was a financial successes.

After the financial failure of his movies in the late 90s, Luc Besson continued to pound out "B" movies in the hopes of someday being a success again.

If Valerian fails, Luc Besson can either retire or he can go out and pound out some more "B" movies and convince people to give him another shot.

Luc Besson has worked very hard and never gave up the dream of being a film director.

The man should be applauded for that at least. He never gave up on his dream.

After the Ghost in the Shell fiasco (i.e. haters making it flop) I'm going to go watch this just out of principle. Let's support creative and imaginative science fiction.

Well, it's been a long time. I've been looking forward to this since I first heard about it. Now I'm sitting in the middle of a Dolby Theater @ AMC Prime with my leather recliner all the way back. I've got my refrigerated Junior Mints and a Cherry Vanilla Coke Freestyle. I'm ready. Bring it on!
