If its an mkv file you should be fine. I'm not really a full blown techie but it should work.

I never bothered learning about all of the Oppo's functionality beyond playing discs.
The Oppo is so universal which is why they are hailed as the best UHD players even though it's discontinued.

The thing I noticed about the original trilogy & prequels on 4k, the quality is pretty much reflected of how they looked on the 2011 Blu-ray.

You want to look at "waxy", the video om Phantom Menace takes the throne in that regard. The originals look far better in 4k.
The scenes during Hoth were the worst IMO. The rest of the film wasn't much better though with all the processing. That first shot of Luke on the Tauntaun looked so processed and waxy I knew these transfers were gonna be not the definitive releases much of us hoped for. Again, just my opinion. I'm far from a full expert reviewer. Some of the time films that get panned here for technical issues I find ok. I was also never a big fan of the 2011 blu-rays.

I believe I have the original one TN1 did, V1.0 which is no processing. It looks great.

Speaking of reviews, I'm expecting the OT to get perfect video scores on this site, even though they really aren't worthy of them.

If it were 12 4ks, so 9 2019 versions plus 3 97 se versions.
Duplicate blu rays
That leaves 3 discs for extras what do you think?
No. It turns out that it's:

9 4Ks
9 HD Blu-rays
9 HD Blu-rays with Bonus Features

There you go. 3X9=27, and no DVDs.

What area or thread do I use to sell a digital copy of a movie on this forum?
I have a UHD code for The Last Jedi that I would like to sell.

Ok so, I told myself I wasn’t going to buy this, and I did. Then I realized that I have been buying each format box set since vhs. So I think that eased my conscience a little. So far I have watched TPM and ANH, but I am enjoying the set so far. I see the complaints, but I can’t help to think that is just how this forum is, you can’t please everyone. That being said, having seen 4k77 and 4k83 or whatever jedi is, those are my preferred 4k viewing experiences mostly due to it being theatrical versions and a film experience. This will also be the last time I purchase these movies in a set unless Disney decides to say decree you Lucas and release the theatricals. Even then that release has to be perfect ( No DNR and no laser disk shenanigans).

I've heard 4K83 v1.1 is the one to get. I've not seen either version of it yet.

Personally I wouldn't worry about what everybody else is saying about these 4K movies (the disc and the digital) because if you do, you'll end up in a mental institution in a strait jacket. As long as you're satisfied with the A/V quality of these movies, that's all that matters.

Think you got that backwards Slim. You’re in a thread dedicated to people’s opinions on the technical presentation of discs - telling someone to ignore people’s opinion. That’s the definition of insanity lol

There are folks who complain about everything, and if people listen to them they're going to need a lobotomy. If I complained about every 4K and blu-ray movie I wouldn't buy them at all but no, they just love to complain.

My individual 4K copies should be here in the next few days. For now here's what it looks like on my shelf:

I'd also like to note that the Rogue One steelbook has the Target bonus DVD inside.

The individuals look handsome. Also helps I had a gift card kicking around since Christmas so I only paid $97 for the OT, RO and FA.

HDDigest are saying the transfers are barely better than the Blu Rays now. It's the prequels and maybe the OT will fare better.

Are you saying they're lying? Or that their reviewers don't know what they're doing?

Well it’s an opinion so I don’t think he’s lying but I don’t think I’ve ever agreed with his views or any of their reviews.

I did a little comparison this morning of A New Hope via Disney Plus and Project 4K77 v1.0 DNR. There is some black crush present in the Project 4K77 (e.g., in Vader's cape when interrogating the rebel about the location of the stolen Death Star plan). However, the overall color timing on the Project 4K77 version is, to ME, far more appealing. I am still amazed and awed that we've come far enough that a group of fans can produce such an amazing, high-quality version of a cherished childhood film. I'd buy those folks a few rounds if I were ever in the same room with the, lol.

Sorry I’m not a huge SW fan. Which other movies did this group “produce,” or whatever correct verb would be? Did they do the whole original trilogy?
