Wait is there a B2G1?

Probably referring to a recent one like the one during Black Friday. Movie deals have been dry since.

To add to what Flamed says- Once the items have shipped, you can now view the invoice which lists the breakdown of discounts applied to each title individually.
So if you cancel or return something later, you will know exactly how much that item was within the total.

with Target removing movies earlier this year from their stores, I wonder which section of the stores will get removed in 2025, due to low sales?

No way on clothes. The margins on clothing are very, very high whereas the margins on video games is practically pennies. The last BF sale clearly shows video games aren't even doorstoppers or foot traffic drivers anymore. Game Industry reported digital sales made up over half of BF game sales so there really is little point in keeping so much retail space for them.

I expect all B&M retailers to cut down the VG floor space next year -- frankly, wouldn't be surprised to see them eliminate it to one aisle with a bunch of download cards. This is where it's all going for games. Heck, the Xbox doesn't even sell a console with a disc drive anymore and Sony launched its luxury-end PS5 Pro without it included, too.

The writing is on the wall; the digital transition is now well past the breaking point.

Instead of glass it's metal so you don't even know what's on the other side. Unless you place an order for in-store pickup, you're not even going to bother.

The nearest Best Buy has its video game section tucked away in the far corner. It's nowhere as big as it used to be but it's still a sizeable amount, only it's crickets. No customers are ever there.

I can see Target cutting down the floor space for Toys next year as well, my local Target barely restocks the toy section, and they have the same products on the shelves for multiple months with barely anything new, they only rotate out the trading cards, collectible figures and Funko figures with new stock

Well, toys have big margins so I don't think you'll see that. In fact, Target could double-down on them. There is a reason why you see Gamestop and Best Buy selling toys. Some of the more nostalgia-driven "collectible" figures/toys provide huge margins for retailers so I don't see that sort of shelf space going down at all.

In my stores, toys are doing very well. The recent Jakks release of Simpsons figures seem pretty popular -- stores are cleared out of them. I've also found myself grabbing a toy here/there.

Even with them eliminating games they'll still most likely sell the consoles themselves. So don't fear with the Switch 2. Hell they may even carry a handful of games for the Switch 2 as well. Sony and Microsoft are the more likely candidates to have their games removed from the floor.

Toys do fantastic at my Target as well, I think a big part of the reason is that toys are selling to a lot of kids and adult collectors too. I never see kids picking up Star Wars stuff but adults all the time and all from the classic line of the series.

My local Target has a full aisle loaded with all things Nintendo while the PS5 section is about 1/4 of that, and the Xbox is, well you could easily miss it. I think Nintendo will have a strong footprint with the Switch 2 while the others will continue to disappear in part because Nintendo still markets the "toy" aspect of the console and the accessories like Amiibos.

Whereas with movies I am all in on physical media I haven't felt the same need with this generation of gaming opting for all digital instead. A big part of the reason is that when you buy a movie that's it, you own that full movie with everything advertised when you purhcased it. With gaming nowadays you are basically buying access to download the rest of the product anyway.

Didn't realize that deals would negate separate deals at Target. Had a $10 gift card with the purchase of $ amount of certain items in my cart, but once I reached $80 and activated the $15 off $80, the gift card went away.

The $XX off a certain amount of spend spreads the discount across your items so you probably no longer hit the threshold $ amt. for the category items you needed to spend to get the giftcard. My guess is you needed to add a little more to it to make it work.

I've combined those two sorts of promos before and it's never been an issue.

Amd BTW, that's always been how the $ off a certain amount has worked. It ensures that if you return anything, you don't lose the whole discount.

Toys do very well at my local Targets. I get the occasional G.I. Joe Classified or MOTU Cartoon Collection figures. Nintendo is the dominant console at my Target stores as well. PS5 and Xbox have done themselves no favors going all digital. The Switch appeals to the "physical collector" and is more kid friendly. I feel that Nintendo will be around long after PS and Xbox have gone.

Got another delay email for my Wallace and Gromit. Should probably just get it from Movies Unlimited with the 25% code at this point.

Had the $15 off $80, so pre-ordered Panic Room 4k steelbook and Constantine 4k (and a third just to bring it to $80, which i canceled). Wound up bringing Panic Room to $30 and Constantine to $25. We will see what happens with Amazon's pricing to see if i keep the orders with target.
