It's actually the kind of crap that makes me mad. Some people get mad, because someone buys a weapon from Xur that they feel like they earned as a random drop somewhere. But when you put in all of the tedious time farming crappy helium to upgrade something that you really did not need to upgrade save for the satisfaction of upgrading it, and you find out that was a waste of time completely. Gee Whiz. At least it's not in game transactions, I suppose.

I guess you could still cheese the templar by going up on the big slab opposite the little chest room. You can't get shot up there and you should be able to get a hit on the Templar. Just means you miss the chest which I've only ever got shards from so isn't a big deal.

I wonder if you can still push him off the left side (as looking from where you pick up the relic)? I played with one group that thought that was faster, so it's what we did. It worked. Not really faster than a couple of sunsingers with supers, though.

Missing the chest could be meaningful, if the order of chests is important in getting all of them that have yet to be discovered. But coming back at level 32 with different weapons might make it easier.

Tell you what, I'm going to level up one of those SGAs to the point before materials then dismantle it and see what I get. I've been maxing out their experience (which takes a while) but not actually leveling them up and have been getting 5-6 energy for them upon dismantling.

I can be on 5:30-6:00. Need two more weeklies before the reset. I wasn't that concerned about them earlier, as I have 70 coins, but it looks like there will actually be a need for coins going forward, even if there are no weapons/armor you want. I know Mike was going to jump on to help me through, but he's already completed his two for the week.

At least for legendary items I know that if you max out the XP (not pay for the dots) you definitely see more ascendant materials. It feels like you can get even more than that for a maxed out (yellow border) item, but never enough to justify doing it just for that. That last part may be me reading too much into personal experience.

At least as far as I've tested (only done it a few time with legendary armor) there is a definite difference between disasembling as soon as you get something vs. getting it to full xp.

wow i like most of the changes. although i did a relic iron farming run the other day and have over 100.. it is still one of the fastest ways to get glimmer that i've found.

put me down for the thursday hard raid. i'll probably just try and join a tuesday normal raid so i can get more practice beating the templar without cheese. i think i've only done it that way once or twice.

i think it would be fun to try crotas end on release day without reading about it, and try to figure it out before everyone knows how to do it.

You shouldn't get Energy from Exotics anymore, you should get Exotic Shards.

Seems like planets have lot more materials out in the open now. Farming should be much smoother.

Call me weird, but I actually kinda enjoy farming for materials. Run around in a circle, kill enemies when bored, get all excited when seeing a chest in a cave, rinse and repeat.

It can be strangely therapeutic?

This game really has us for suckers, lol. Tempting you constantly with a carrot on the end of a stick.

Just to be clear, you're saying that simply maxing-out the circles (and NOT filling them in) should get you more material at breakdown? If so, I've been wasting a lot of glimmer/material! I think I have a couple identical gauntlets I can try this on that I've yet to break-down.
