Are you sure they did it right? I take it back and try it again with a different person.

It was a basic 2D movie? Not IMAX or XD etc.?

I got my welcome e-mail on the 17th and haven't received my card yet.
I kinda figured that it'll take some time since they've been flooded with orders so I'm being patient until it arrives.
But I am anxious to use it but can wait because some of the movies I want to see I can't use it and can still use some passes I've saved up so it won't be a problem this weekend.
Hopefully, it shows up by the time IT opens.

I assume this would not work on "xtreme" viewings at our Xscape theater. It's like their version of IMAX. For 9.99 month though, seeing one movie it is paid off!!

What are the drawbacks??

You have to check into the film, the activate screen pops up and then you have to back out of the film check in screen and re-select it for it to load the funds. The sense of dread zoomed over me my first time using it but I just used common sense and figured it out.

I haven't had an issue since and I've gone 4 times since I got my card a week ago.

I think this is a great deal. Only problem is our 4 year old. He cannot get a pass. Plus how many movies would he want to see (sit down and not fuss). We take him everywhere hahah

But seriously. Why wouldn't u get this? Even one movie is more than 9.99.

Did you go AMC? Some of my friends have been having issues at their locations.

Pretty stupid there is no couples or family plans, like the ability to pay 20$ a month to get 2 tickets, one for me and the other for the gf. This is a major oversight on their part.

Plus it would be nice to have a premium package that includes IMAX/70mm/3D for that crowd of people. Doesn't really matter for me since I see maybe 3 IMAX movies a year, basically only the movies shot in IMAX, but for the hardcore or 3D fans that would be a nice option.

They finally replied to me on twitter but it's only slightly better than a canned response:

Quote:
Hi! So sorry for the delay! A card has been ordered for you and is on the way! Cards are sent out in batches from our card provider. Several batches are sent out over the course of a week, so as long as the sign-ups are in close proximity to one another, the cards should arrive around the same time with a slight delay, dependent upon the mail.
I asked if they know when it shipped and when I should expect it so we'll see

How long did it take you to get that reply on twitter? I had thought about sending a DM to ask if mine was shipped, just in case.

Everything would be "nice", but this is doomed to failure, because they lose money every single time it's used as they're buying tickets at full price. They think they'll be so much extra activity at theaters that the theater owners will be willing to pay them, but that is absolutely not going to happen. Chances are they'll run out of operating cash before too long and this will be over.

The idea that you have to contact a legitimate company that you have a paying membership with through Twitter is absurd. They should hire a few people even if on a temporary basis to answer phones, emails, and provide basic customer service.

I'm not in the camp that think this is a scam. I signed up and am patiently waiting for my card to arrive. I understand they are overwhelmed, but it's not acceptable to have such shoddy customer service.

Choose a participating theatre in the moviepass app. Click on the showing for the 2D movie. You need to be within 100 yards from the theatre with your gps on. It should then show you a red check in screen that says you have 30 minutes to buy your ticket. You then swipe your moviepass mastercard to buy the ticket at the box office. I went to both Cinemark and AMC & had no problems.

Anyways I plan on watching as much movies as I can every month. I have a bad feeling that they aren't going to have enough liquid money to continue this program at this price.

Took about eight hours probably, after tweeting at them twice to reply to my DM since that seems to be the best way to get them to actually do it lol

They are just giving you some BS. My son has had his card since Monday and I still have no card even though I signed up a few days before him and we live in the same zip. There appears to be no rhyme or reason as to who receives the card when.

That USPS informed mail thing is working for me already, and it looks like I will only be getting one envelope today and it's not from moviepass.
