For some reason that doesn't bother me at all!

7,8,9 will be as bad if not worse than 1,2,3.

I cannot see why anyone is excited about more Star Wars movies, especially whey they will be made for the lowest common denominator.

Disney have spent $4.5b on this & they want to get their money back as quick as they can like every investor does.

People saying "I cannot wait for more Star Wars movies" are blinded by their childishness.

Gotta love the internet. Anybody and everybody thinking they know who will and won't direct the next moves. Knowing the next movies will be garbage without and idea on content whatsoever.

LOL Gotta love it.

I simply can't wait until more actual definitive news comes out on 7. And I will not predict when that will be.

Yes, no, oh hell yeah! Verbinski is too hit and miss for my taste, but he knows the Disney factory well. Carrie Fisher looks like she could play a Hutt.

Fox doesn't own Star Wars. Lucas entertained a bid from Disney in 1999 for distribution rights for the prequels, but decided to stay with Fox. LucasFilm and Fox just have a distribution agreement, that's all.

You know what I have discovered after all these years...it's great to be blinded by my childishness.

It's a lot better than taking movies too seriously.

Very well said!
I always thought movies were supposed to be fun, and entertaining...the Star Wars universe has provided plenty of that for me! Keep 'em coming for decades!

Cynicism isn't "adult". Any kiddo can sulk and pout about how bad everything is going to turn out. Nothing childish about optimism, and in fact, optimism is more mature.

As for Disney wanting to get their money back, that company isn't thinking short-term. Star Wars is going to be making them money for a long, long, time. In fact, if my suspicions are correct, they just fixed their Harry Potter problem in Florida.

I also wonder how this will affect the comics, Marvel used to make them then now Dark Horse does, if Dark Horse loses the Star Wars franchise are they basically finished? I don't keep up so I could be way off.

I'd be happy with this existing Willow being released on US BD!
Also I don't think Val Kilmer is going to fit into his armor!

Exactly, the world would be a boring place if everything had to be ultra-serious and mature.

I think everyone is looking to far into the Episode #7 thing and they will release a SW movie every 2-3 years.

I think at this point it will just be a 7th SW movie, not an actual Episode #7 nor an extension of the Skywalker family. The Skywalker family was Lucas' baby and he finished that story. Now Disney can create a new story, but in the same universe with all new characters. I'm thinking we will see something very familiar but also very different.

As for the 2-3 years, let's be honest I do not think that means we will see another movie every 2-3 years for the next 20 years. Not even POTC lasted that long and was very lucrative. I think right now their plan for the next three movies is to release them every 2-3 is all they meant. And let's be honest, if they can do it in 2 years, that's a great thing and I think they can with the right director.

The official website confirms a new trilogy. Episode VII, VIII and IX.

I'm guessing it'll be unrelated to the Skywalker family too.

If the Star Wars movie makes 1billion dollars, I am sure we will see one every 3 years.

I am actually OK with that, if done properly. The big concern with a new Star Wars movie is the lack of Darth Vader. He was the interesting story arc we all wanted to know about and that has been completed.

I think they would have to go to old times(Old Republic) to get a story line we all would be interested in. Jedi will be necessary and after Episode 6, there is only 1 Jedi and 1 soon to be.

They could take a queue from the Jedi Knight games however not sure how well that would work on screen.
