Each reseller will run bots with 100s of proxies. You're manually trying to add to cart against 1000s of instant checkout bots. You'll see instagram posts of people sitting in front of entire rooms of product they pulled.

Never thought movies would attract that type of plague. But here we are. At least if you're vigilant, you can catch a random restock. This steel had a restock run over an entire day if I recall during pre order.

I feel your pain as I love buying Jordan 1s and can never hit on them, heck last shoe I got on my own was the fire red 5s what 3 years ago. I never thought movies would be quite like this and I hope it doesn't continue down this road. Even the walmart exclusive slip has been tough for me today, every walmart in the area said they had them excepted the closest one to me. Now all of them except one is sold out. Luckily I got an order in and will wait until tomorrow to go out that way.

I’ve purchased every Marvel related steelbook since the beginning, I eventually upgraded and got the 4K steelbooks of all the same movies.

I’m a completist, I even purchase them for Marvel movies I don’t like and if I’m being completely honest I haven’t really enjoyed anything MCU related since Endgame and over the past few years my enjoyment of Marvel movies has been waning, to the point that I actually didn’t even really like No Way Home or Shang Schi (didn’t hate them but they just don’t excite me the way they used to) these movies have slowly been loosing me but I still continued to buy the steelbooks because I’m a completist but now that my collection is incomplete because of the limited availability of this steelbook, I’m really considering just selling all my MCU related steelbooks, If I ever feel like watching any of them again Disney Plus has them literally with IMAX aspect ratio so ya I’m thinking of getting rid of all of it, I just need the original Sam Raimi trilogy, Blade and some of the Fox movies like Logan and Deadpools.

I’ve seen this a few times in this thread and others and always wonder, why buy two? Is it so you can open one and keep one sealed? Or is it to sell at a higher price later?

To get the best one. One might be dented or spine slash and the other one is perfect.

A guy on this thread got three, two with spine splash. People who are desperate should contact him and see if he'll sell at cost with shipping and I'd pay for insurance too.

Even spine slash Spider-Man steelbooks will be in demand.

Someone somewhere posted that their Target didn't have slipcovers for the 4K. My Target did have them for all the ones in stock and only had three of the Target Exclusive out for sale.

Also no shippers, no Spider-Man out by the cash registers [they did have Sing 2!]

A very low key marketing plan for this release or Sony just didn't want to pay for anything extra figuring the title will sell itself.

$27.99 either one, cheaper than Best Buy standard 4K and 5% discount if you use the Red Card.

Why not just look at your collection as The Complete Infinity Stone Saga (Iron Man - Endgame) rather than as the entire MCU? I get completionism, I'm a completionist for a couple other franchises myself. But the Infinity Stone Saga feels like the only part of it worth collecting, with the Spider-man films serving as a decent epilogue.

If the scalpers pay for them, what does Best Buy care if they order hundreds? Or if you are worried about scalpers ordering hundreds and then returning them, maybe collect a nonrefundable deposit during the preorder period. If you don’t want to pay the deposit, don’t preorder and take your chances with grabbing one in store on release day.

I collect some music titles from Japan and that is how it works. The record label sends out emails with a planned release, and announces a planned prepaid, preorder period. Actual production is based on the preorder volume. If you preorder (and prepay) you are guaranteed a copy. If you don’t, you will have to check store stock on release day. It really does take all the stress out of buying limited edition items. And it is good for the studios too. Much less likely to over or under estimate demand.

Yes but they went up for pre-order at midnight of the theatrical release date so everybody pre-ordered before they had seen the movie and found out it was crap.

A lot of people will cancel those orders and they'll back in stock on release day there.

Slight difference in colours. There is a YouTube video of both unsealed side by side. People are saying that the Best Buy colours look a bit better but the colour on the actual discs looks better in the Zavvi steelbook.

I agree with you, especially when it comes to other movies- HOWEVER I think that due to the lack of Andrew and Tobey on the covers for this specific steelbook to prevent spoilers, I feel like these were definitely produced close to the release of the movie in theaters.

Like if they were produced a month later then they would have featured the other two spider-men on the back or at least the inside covers (although I like how balanced Tom and Strange are, after I opened up the steelbook yesterday).
