Could we get a checkbox to not crop whitespace on contributed media covers similar to the option currently available for theatrical posters? Many times I've contributed media covers only to find out the image was severely cropped. This results in having to go back and use the trick of adding a colored pixel in the corners of the images to prevent having the image cropped a second time.

Thanks Marwin!
I was just considering adding an option for the default value of "Watched", guess great minds think alike

It might be possible to make the auto-cropping code smarter and to avoid messing up the white covers (I'm thinking detecting how many percent of the image is actually white and if it is above a certain threshold we skip the image cropping process), will need to look into this. The alternative would be to add an option for this, but we don't want to clutter things with too much options either.

Edit: Do you have any white trouble-covers that you remember off the top of your head for testing?

There's now an Add to collection as watched setting in the "My collection" section that defaults to 0 that can be used for this purpose.

And some Criterion examples of easily bugged covers when cropping:

My preliminary behind the scenes testing is looking good so far, hopefully the smarter auto-cropping algorithm can go live very soon

The new cover auto-cropping code is now live, hopefully I didn't break anything in the process

It should be noted that it will only apply to new image/cover uploads and won't fix legacy images, they have to be re-submitted.

I think it should work like this now:

iPad - preview
iPhone - no cover preview, faster
iPod - no cover preview, faster

Android tablet - preview
Android phone - no cover preview, faster

Kindle - preview

Mobile Safari - no cover preview, faster

I've changed the auto-cropping to be more strict so now it works on the Neverending Story cover as well. The only downside is that some bundle covers won't get auto-cropped, such as these ones:

I don't have any titles listed for sale nor that specific title so it makes me think it's pulling up someone else's collection.
Oops, that's quite a bug. Thanks for reporting it, should be fixed now

Everytime that is a CDON link the release date does automatic reflects what's on the CDON release and not the exact release date that was added before the link to CDON was added. don't know if it also happes with other releases
The release date from CDON is only used if no release date has been submitted. It doesn't overwrite if there already is a release date.

Yes, we had to revert the code because it was letting too many covers through uncropped.

We're now going to address this internally by allowing admins to choose between the original upload and the auto-cropped version. Hopefully this should take care of the white problem covers in the future. This change is now live

It could be a bug. It would help if you had an example of such an entry, if you don't, try to keep this in mind the next time it happens and we will investigate further.

Most likely the UPC/EAN of the associated Amazon ASIN changed and it was updated by the backend, hence no one is listed as making the change.

Default Music Clickie in menu bar

Iceman, want to request a Music clickie between the 3D Movies and DVD clickies at the top of the page. This would allow quicker, better access to Blu-Audio releases (as opposed to concert video releases).

Thanks, Doc.

Sorry for not being clear.
You can do it for reviewers review rating:
https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/searc...sortby=overall

But not for users review rating, would you like such a sort order as well?
