Tony is definitely back for season 8

Maybe I'm naive but the whole season I kept thinking they were building and building towards something but no real payoff. Then again, season one was paced about the same but had a strong ending.

Uh... this season (before the first episode was even aired) was supposed to be a lot more personal and in-the-life (so to speak) of Jack Bauer. I thought that the writers did a terrific job at that. Not every season finale needs to be full of explosions and double-crosses.

I personally feel that this was the best season yet, with the final 4 hours of the show being non-stop (story wise) entertainment.

I for one, was so into Tony's character towards the end in the final two hours where he's explaining to Jack why he is the person he is today and how emotional he got in the season finale. What a terrific actor Bernard is and I hope that they make him have a significant role in Day 8.

What a show, what a show.

I agree with PS34EVER. It didn't have the same suspense or edge of your seat moments some of the previous seasons. But I definitely felt it was more personable and non the less had a lot of really great moments even if they weren't OMG moments. Great season, can't wait for the 8th season and am hoping for a 9th as well. At which point they can go ahead and conclude the series or better yet a spin-off provided Renee maybe Chloe and some other character (that they can establish in the next season or 2) sign on.

Also one thing about 24 is even when it's lacking, it's still leaps and bounds better than most TV shows out there.

While I think Alan deserves to be killed at the hands of Tony, Alan may have gotten his. You don't know what Renee did to him after she closed the door. Even if all she does is torture him, he will get his. If he doesn't give them anything, you can be pretty sure either Renee will kill him or somebody will. While some things were rushed, I'm glad they didn't rush every part of the story. Not everything could be wrapped up in the final two hours. There was just too much going on for that to happen. All in all, I was pleased with the finale and agree with PS34EVER and Eagle.

THR is reporting that Freddie Prinze Jr (Scooby-Doo) is joining the cast of Fox's "24" as a regular, playing Davis Cole, a recently returned Marine who runs CTU Field Ops and wants to follow in Jack Bauer's (Kiefer Sutherland) footsteps.

On the real-time drama, whose upcoming eighth season started production Wednesday, Prinze joins fellow new cast additions Anil Kapoor, who plays a Middle East leader; Chris Diamantopoulos, as the president's new chief of staff; and John Boyd as a CTU systems analyst. All of them are regulars, while Jennifer Westfeldt has come aboard as a recurring, playing a a journalist.

Also cast as a recurring on the 20th TV/Imagine series is Nazneen Contractor as Kapoor's daughter.

i mean, when you are joining one of the most intense, serious shows on television in years and your film credit is (Scooby Doo)....

The 24 premiere is going to be from 9:00-11:00? It's certainly rare for Fox to go into the third hour of prime time. I'm also a bit surprised they wouldn't premiere Human Target after 24, with the hope that 24's viewers would stay for Human Target.

I am very surprised at the Freddie Prinze Jr. casting! I'm not liking that choice at all right now, but guess I'll see how he is after a few episodes. Would rather them have gotten his wife, sarah michelle gellar!

Janeane Garofalo... that totally threw me off last season, and Sean Astin before her in season five. Red Foreman, now THERE is somebody who should've survived a season!

Did anyone experience unusually long load times for season 7?

All my other discs load fine, but 24 season 7 took AGES to load. They played fine, once loaded.

Sony BDP-S301 and it works fine for my whole collection and the zillions that I have received from Netflix.

No Joking, it took 7-10 minutes for every disc. AND, when you clicked on "Play Episode", that too about 60 seconds to load....for every episode.
